In Thanh Hoa province, the coastal streets of Sam Son ward were flooded with garbage. "The high tide combined with the storm wind threw many bricks, stones, and concrete slabs onto the road, making it impossible for vehicles to pass," said a traffic police officer. Some locations on Ho Xuan Huong, Le Loi, and Nguyen Du streets were 70-80 cm deep in water. Authorities have put up signs prohibiting people from passing.

Along the east coast of Ho Xuan Huong Street, Sam Son Ward, Thanh Hoa, many casuarinas and coconut trees were uprooted by the waves.

Waves erode the dike in Thanh Hoa - The Nam Hai dike in Nghi Son ward was hit by strong tides, causing landslides in two locations with lengths of about 100 m and 200 m respectively. A representative of the local government said that the authorities are mobilizing vehicles to transport soil and rocks, urgently reinforcing the dike body to ensure the safety of people and property in Nghi Son Economic Zone.
Many mountainous villages in Quang Tri were isolated due to moderate and heavy rains, although they were not in the eye of the storm. The rainfall in the past 2 hours in the northern part of the province was generally between 100-300 mm, with higher rainfall in some places such as Ho Be 316 mm, Tan Lam 332 mm, and Ho Vuc Tron 339 mm. Heavy rain caused many roads in Tuyen Binh commune to be deeply flooded, isolating 178 households and 608 people in three villages. In Tuyen Hoa commune, 5 flooded spots on inter-commune roads were flooded, isolating villages. Authorities put up warning signs and used tape to warn.
