That potential convergence is the merger of Thuan Minh commune, Ham Duc commune and Ma Lam town. After the merger, Ham Thuan commune has a natural area of 198.36 ^km2 , a population of 50,680 people. In particular, the inter-regional traffic system is increasingly complete. This is not only a travel advantage, but also a prerequisite for developing high value-added economic sectors such as logistics services, general trade, processing industry and attracting large-scale investment projects. At the same time, with the merger, Ham Thuan commune has a very large land fund for production and construction. Especially the large area of agricultural land needs to be restructured. Because in reality, in the conditions of the old localities, people have had to face countless difficulties and challenges such as natural disasters, complicated climate change; high prices of agricultural materials while the price of agricultural products, especially dragon fruit, is unstable.

However, with a solid foundation in local agricultural production, the gradual application of science and technology in recent times has shown its ability to adapt quickly. This is the basis for building Ham Thuan commune into a clean, organic, sustainable agricultural production area, creating branded products, participating deeply in the global value chain. An example of this strength is that the commune's annual planting area exceeds the plan (9,422/8,700 ha); food output reaches 42,455/39,220 tons; the average production value per hectare of cultivation reaches over 178 million VND. In particular, in agricultural production, the initial formation of linkage chains for key agricultural products such as dragon fruit, rice... with the participation of large enterprises has created a driving force to promote sustainable agricultural development and increase income for people.

Ham Thuan commune also has great potential for developing agricultural - cultural - ecological tourism. At the 1st Congress of Ham Thuan Commune Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, which took place on July 18, Secretary of Ham Thuan Commune Party Committee (Lam Dong Province) Nguyen Ngoc Thach raised questions to find solutions for the set goals. That is, how can Ham Thuan achieve high growth rate and sustainable development? Which sectors, fields and regions need to be prioritized to create a breakthrough? How to effectively promote land potential, promote industrial and service development?... The ultimate goal is economic development, people's lives are clearly improved, national defense and security are solid, and the Party Committee is truly the core of effective leadership.

Orienting solutions for the coming time, comrade Vo Thanh Binh - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, when speaking at the congress, raised a number of contents. In particular, he emphasized that the commune needs to identify economic development as the central task, creating a breakthrough, being a typical model of development after the merger. One of the solutions is to resolutely restructure agriculture towards increasing added value and sustainable development. Strongly transform the structure of crops and livestock. Promote the application of high technology, organic agriculture, circular agriculture. Build brands, growing area codes, geographical indications for key agricultural products of Ham Thuan, towards the OCOP program. Encourage the development of cooperative economy, production linkage models according to the value chain.

Along with that, the commune needs to make the most of its advantages in terms of transportation and land to attract investment in the fields of processing industry, trade, services, and logistics. It is necessary to create a truly attractive, open, and transparent business investment environment; turn tourism into an important economic sector. Build tours and routes connecting ecological, cultural, and spiritual tourist destinations in the area. It is necessary to focus on investing in completing technical and social infrastructure, especially intra-field transportation, irrigation, electricity, clean water, and digital transformation infrastructure, considering it a lever for development.
