During the exercise, the John Finn operated with the Hatakaze-class guided missile destroyer JS Shimakaze and the Takanami-class destroyer JS Suzunami of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.

“We are honored to sail regularly with our JMSDF allies through these waters,” said Capt. Justin Harts, one of the exercise commanders. “This strengthens the bond between our two nations and demonstrates the interchangeability between our two fleets.”

Throughout the voyage, participants enhanced deterrence, interoperability, and demonstrated readiness to respond to any regional contingency. Professional engagement and cooperation with allies and partners is the foundation of regional stability, promoting peace and prosperity for all nations.

The US 7th Fleet is the US Navy's largest forward-deployed fleet and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners to protect a free and open Indo- Pacific region.
