Kinhtedothi - On March 18, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Plan No. 77/KH-UBND on implementing the "Overall project on managing the centralized surveillance camera system in Hanoi".
Accordingly, the plan aims to specify the tasks and solutions to implement the overall project on management of the centralized surveillance camera system in Hanoi according to Decision No. 319/QD-UBND dated January 17, 2025 of the City People's Committee; It is the basis for relevant agencies, units, localities and enterprises to organize implementation; strengthen management and coordination in the development of digital infrastructure in the city to ensure synchronization, efficiency, and completion of the set goals.
The City People's Committee requested the implementation of 8 specific key tasks as follows: In June 2025, issue the temporary regulations on management, operation, exploitation and use of the centralized surveillance camera system in Hanoi; In 2026, expand the surveillance camera system at key security and order targets in the city; In 2025 and the following years, upgrade the Command Center and install a surveillance camera system, command and control traffic to serve security and order, and handle violations for the Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police.
Along with that, from 2025-2026, the renovation and upgrading of the traffic control center and peripheral equipment phase 2 will be implemented; in phase 2025-2027, the establishment and operation of the Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center, including the intelligent traffic management and operation department, will be established and put into operation; in phase 2025-2030, the installation of a surveillance camera system will be implemented by the departments, branches, sectors and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities as investors.
Annually organize training and improve information technology skills for police forces, civil servants of agencies and units in applying achievements of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution in management, supervision and handling of violations of security and order, and crime prevention; research and propose ordering city-level science and technology tasks related to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in data processing, camera images to serve state management in various fields, in line with the development trend of technology.
The City People's Committee assigned the Department of Science and Technology to preside over and coordinate with the Hanoi City Police; departments, branches, sectors; People's Committees of districts, towns and relevant units to guide, inspect and urge the implementation of this Plan, and report the implementation results to the City People's Committee according to regulations.
