In the period of 2021-2025, Long An mobilized nearly 4,500 billion VND to carry out poverty reduction work.

The National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in Long An province has always received attention and been implemented in many forms, contributing to reducing the gap in living standards between urban and rural areas.

Giving cows to poor and near-poor households

In the 2021-2025 period, the total capital for implementing the program is nearly 4,500 billion VND. Of which, the central budget allocates 227 billion VND, the local budget 2.3 billion VND, combined capital, and credit loan capital 4,250 billion VND.

This capital is used to implement projects of the support program for poor, near-poor, newly escaped poverty households, and people living in particularly difficult communes and coastal areas.

In particular, focusing on supporting investment in developing socio-economic infrastructure; diversifying livelihoods, developing poverty reduction models; supporting production development, improving nutrition; developing vocationaleducation and sustainable employment; communicating and reducing poverty information, improving capacity and monitoring and evaluating programs; implementing poverty reduction and social security policies (education, health, legal aid, preferential credit, etc.).

By early 2025, the number of poor households in the province was 2,692, accounting for 0.56% of the total number of households in the province. The number of near-poor households in the province was 7,358, accounting for 1.52% of the total number of households in the province./.
