Hundreds of organizations and individuals join hands to contribute books and efforts, turning the library into a place of knowledge for all ages.
From small idea to modern reading space
From Tuy Phuoc District Library (formerly Binh Dinh - now Gia Lai province), Tuy Phuoc commune authorities initiated the movement to build "Basic Bookcases and Hope Library". In just over two weeks of launching, the call has spread strongly, receiving enthusiastic support from many agencies, organizations, individuals and people.
As a result, nearly 750 books with rich content, from children's books, literature, popular science to life skills were contributed. Tuy Phuoc Commune People's Committee also allocated funds from the budget to purchase nearly 200 new books. Gia Lai Provincial Library donated 100 more books, newspapers and a set of library management information identification equipment, contributing to the completion of facilities and improving service quality.
Not stopping at books, Tuy Phuoc commune invested in upgrading the library: renovating the system of shelves, tables and chairs, equipping computers, air conditioners, painting murals, installing lighting systems. The reading area dedicated to children is decorated lively and intimate. Almost every step from painting, painting to designing the space is carried out by commune officials and people.
Mr. Thai Van Thuan - Vice Chairman of Tuy Phuoc Commune People's Committee, shared: "The library is open every day of the week, providing free services with thousands of books divided by age group and genre for readers to easily find. In particular, students have more places to play, study, and foster a reading culture after school. The movement of reading books and newspapers is also spreading strongly in the community."

The meeting point of knowledge
Thanks to the support of Gia Lai Provincial Library, Hy Hope Library is also equipped with an automatic borrowing and returning system, barcode reader integrated with CCCD/VNeID, VietBiblio management software... to help approach the smart library model.
In the brightly lit room, several groups of students sat around small wooden tables, their eyes engrossed in reading each line of text on the pages. Some tilted their heads, propping their chins on their hands, their lips moving as they silently read. In the other corner, the chessboard was already crowded. The sound of chess pieces lightly hitting the table “crack, crack” was mixed with giggles when an unexpected move confused you.
For many people, especially young people, this place quickly became an ideal “meeting place”. Every week, Bui Thao Duyen (grade 2, Primary School No. 1, Tuy Phuoc town) goes to the library three times. Duyen likes reading fairy tales, especially good night stories, and playing chess with her friends.
Pham Gia Nghia (grade 7, Tuy Phuoc town secondary school) often goes to the library to read comics and reference books. “Every day I ask my parents to let me come here. This place is safe and helps me learn many things. My summer is much more meaningful,” Gia Nghia confided.

Not only children, parents also find the habit of reading with their children. The library becomes a place where teachers meet students after school, young people search for learning materials, the elderly read newspapers and chat. The "Basic Bookcase and Hope Library" become a bridge, connecting the community through knowledge.
The movement of “giving books to sow hope” also contributes to enriching the source of books. Each donated book not only carries words, but also contains humanity, arouses the habit of reading, cultivates personality, and sows lasting dreams in the hearts of young readers.
Mr. Thai Van Thuan affirmed: “The Hope Library is a symbol of the love of knowledge, the result of the consensus of the entire political system and local people. Every book, every minute of reading is an investment for the future. We hope to continue to receive the support of the community so that this place will always be a place to nurture knowledge for all generations.”
In the coming time, Tuy Phuoc commune will maintain many reading promotion activities, such as: Introducing new books, exchanging authors and works, building a model of "Family reading books", organizing "Reading Festival" every quarter... This is not only an educational activity, but also a sustainable journey to improve people's knowledge and develop reading culture from the roots.
From a small idea, “The Grassroots Bookcase and Library of Hope” has become a clear demonstration of the power of the community when joining hands for knowledge. Every day, under the roof of that bookstore, the seeds of dreams are quietly sown, to bloom into green seasons of knowledge in the future.
