World gold price fluctuates around 3,300 USD/ounce
At the end of today, the world gold price was at 3,332 USD/ounce. Converted according to the exchange rate listed at the bank, the world gold price is equivalent to 105.2 million VND/tael.
The world gold price has been hovering around the $3,300/ounce mark recently. Investors are awaiting the outcome of trade negotiations between the US and China. US inflation figures expected to be released this week are also drawing attention.
Meanwhile, world gold prices are being temporarily supported by information that the People's Bank of China (PBOC) has been net gold buyers for the seventh consecutive month.
The world's largest gold ETF, SPDR Gold Trust, also net bought about 2 tons of gold in the first session of the week, increasing its holdings to 936.2 tons of gold. Last week, the fund also net bought 4 tons of gold.
Currently, investors are predicting that the world gold price is likely to fall below 3,300 USD/ounce, even 3,000 USD/ounce.
The difference between domestic and world gold prices increases again
Domestically, the selling price of SJC gold bars this afternoon increased by VND800,000/tael, to VND118.5 million/tael, the buying price was VND116.5 million/tael. The difference between buying and selling prices was up to VND2 million/tael.
The selling price of 9999 gold rings at SJC Company is 114 million VND/tael, buying price is 111.7 million VND/tael.
Compared to the converted world gold price, the price of SJC gold bars is 13.3 million VND/tael higher, while the price of 9999 gold rings is 8.8 million VND/tael higher.
This is still a very high difference compared to the Prime Minister 's directive to reduce the difference between domestic and world gold prices to around 1-2%.
If following the Prime Minister's instructions, the domestic gold price must return to 106.3 - 107.3 million VND/tael.
