Unexpected domestic gold price

On the morning of June 14, the price of SJC gold bars in the domestic market suddenly decreased slightly, contrary to the strong increase in world gold prices. Large enterprises such as SJC, PNJ, DOJI , Bao Tin Minh Chau simultaneously adjusted the price of gold bars to about 117.8 million VND/tael (buy) and 120.3 million VND/tael (sell), down 200,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday.

This is quite an unusual development, because the price of SJC gold bars has been continuously increasing for many days before. This cooling down is even more noticeable when the world gold price continues to increase, causing the price of gold rings to also increase sharply.

Specifically, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold is currently listed at about 113.7 million VND/tael (buy) and 116.2 million VND/tael (sell), an increase of 200,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday.

However, in the past few days, the price of gold rings has increased by a total of about 3.5 million VND/tael.

In the international market, the price of gold closed the trading week at a sky-high level - far surpassing the 3,400 USD/ounce range, reaching 3,433 USD/ounce - the highest level in the past 5 weeks.

Gold prices surged as investors sought safe haven amid concerns over escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. The US dollar index (DXY) remained at multi-week lows, also supporting gold prices.

Regarding the price of SJC gold bars, some experts believe that when the market is about to have more gold bar brands joining the market, the price of SJC gold will cool down to narrow the gap with the world price. Therefore, the price of SJC gold is going against the world trend.

Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 108.5 million VND/tael.
