Doi Nhu Y was written by author Bui Quoc Bao based on the story of writer Nguyen Ngoc Tu. He is also the director for the performance on the evening of June 15.

Life as You Wish through many versions

Doi Nhu Y was originally staged by Quoc Bao for the Young World Stage, with actors Ngoc Trinh, Le Phuong... successfully portraying the character of Ba. In 2022, the stage staged a new version with the character of Ba given to Dieu Nhi, and Hai Doi given to Quang Tuan.

In 2015, Tran Huu Trang Opera House asked composer Hoang Song Viet to adapt the opera. In 2024, the theater released a new version of Doi Nhu Y.

Not only that, Hong Van Drama Theater also once composed the play "Doi Nhu Y" to create the play " Thuy thi thuong the that" (Love is like that) . "Doi Nhu Y" was also made into a movie.

Although there were many versions, when the play was included in the program Ngan mai chuong vang , many cai luong fans were still eagerly waiting.

The show Ngan Mai Chuong Vang controls the duration of 90 minutes, compared to the normal play of 120 minutes. Therefore, viewers are curious to see if the shortened version can touch the audience's hearts like the previous version of Tran Huu Trang Opera House.

Because people always remember characters like Hai Doi, Ba, Suong, Nhu, Y... Each character has their own feelings and always makes the audience burst into tears.

Vo Minh Lam, 10 years with the character Hai Doi

In the reformed version, it can be said that the young actor Vo Minh Lam was lucky to transform into the character Hai Doi in three versions from 2015 to 2025. In 2015, when Doi Nhu Y was first released, Vo Minh Lam shared the role of Hai Doi with his senior Le Tu.

In 2024, when the theater re-staged the play, Lam played the full role of Hai Doi. And on the evening of June 15, director Bui Quoc Bao confidently handed over the role of Hai Doi to Vo Minh Lam.

First of all, because Ngan Mai Chuong Vang gives priority to candidates who have won the Golden Bell award of the Golden Bell contest, and Vo Minh Lam was the one who won the Golden Bell in the first season in 2006 (at that time, the contest was called Ngoi Sao Vong Co Television ).

Vo Minh Lam has played this character many times, so he has accumulated a lot of experience. The first time Lam played Hai Doi, he was in his twenties. However, at that time, he was able to bring tears to the audience in the scene where Hai Doi broke up with Suong to save Ba.

Lam's performance combined with the "painful" well-written pieces of the play by composer Hoang Song Viet made this an unforgettable performance in the hearts of the audience.

After 10 years, Lam's increasingly mature singing and acting ability makes the audience expect the character Hai Doi to be more mature and profound. In Ngan mai chuong vang on the evening of June 15, Vo Minh Lam will co-star with chuong vang Phuong Cam Ngoc.
