World gold price today June 11, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 3:00 p.m. on June 11, Vietnam time, was 3,338.67 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 6.89 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,200 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 109.36 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 8.73 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
World gold prices have increased again due to concerns about the progress of completing the trade agreement between the US and China. This uncertainty has caused investors to increase their purchases of gold as a safe haven, especially when the market is waiting for US inflation data to be released later in the day for clearer guidance.
Specifically, the spot gold price increased by 0.5% to 3,337.99 USD/ounce. Meanwhile, the gold futures price in the US also increased by the same amount, reaching 3,359.20 USD/ounce.
The main reason for the increase was that after two days of negotiations in London, US and Chinese officials reached a common framework to restore the trade war truce, including China agreeing to lift restrictions on rare earth exports. However, both sides still have to wait for final approval from President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping.
According to expert Matt Simpson from City Index, it is this hesitation that makes investors still worried and continue to seek gold to hedge against risks, especially when the CPI (consumer price index) report is about to be announced.
Meanwhile, the World Bank has just lowered its 2025 global growth forecast from 2.7% to 2.3%. The reason given is that tariff policies and prolonged instability are creating a major drag on most economies in the world.
According to ANZ Research, in the short term, gold prices may move sideways in the accumulation zone before continuing a new increase, with a target of up to 3,600 USD/ounce by the end of the year.
All eyes are now on the US CPI report, due at 7:30 p.m. (Vietnam time). This data will help the market better assess whether the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will keep interest rates unchanged in the near future.
Most economists surveyed by Reuters believe the Fed will keep interest rates on hold for at least a few more months, amid concerns that inflation could flare up again if the Trump administration's tariff policies continue.
In other precious metals, silver edged down 0.1% to $36.52 an ounce. Platinum rose 1.4% to $1,238.97 and palladium also rose 1% to $1,070.88 an ounce.
