On August 30, the Gia Lai Province Food Safety and Hygiene Department coordinated with the People's Committee of Ia Hiao Commune, Phu Thien Medical Center and Ayun Pa Medical Center to clarify the suspected mass food poisoning case at Mr. Ksor Doi's family, Chrôh Ponan village, Ia Hiao commune.
On the night of August 29, the medical team actively treated the victims of suspected poisoning.
There are currently 3 cases showing signs of fever and being monitored and treated. The remaining cases are in stable health.
The authorities have requested the business that provided food for the party to stop operating to serve the investigation and handle it according to regulations.
According to initial verification, at 11:00 a.m. on August 28, Mr. Ksor Doi's family held a housewarming party with about 220 guests attending.
The menu includes many dishes such as dumplings, spring rolls, grilled meat, spring rolls, beef dipped in bitter melon, honey roasted chicken, lemongrass and chili stir-fried pork, beef salad, double happiness sticky rice, seafood, beer, soft drinks...
By 6 p.m. that same day, many guests had symptoms of stomachache, nausea, diarrhea, and fever. Afterwards, dozens of others also showed similar symptoms.
At around 4:25 p.m. on August 29, Phu Thien Medical Center received its first patient. By 9:30 p.m., Phu Thien Medical Center received 59 more cases and Ayun Pa Medical Center received 70 cases.
A total of 129 patients were diagnosed with food poisoning with symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting, fever, diarrhea, and frequent loose stools at this Center./.
