Thanks to that, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism industry achieved outstanding results such as: Visitors to tourist and entertainment areas are estimated at about 980,000, an increase of 2% over the same period in 2023 (in 2023 it was 960,000).
Domestic tourists to Ho Chi Minh City are estimated at 425,000, up 1.2% over the same period in 2023 (420,000 in 2023). International visitors to Ho Chi Minh City are estimated at 38,800, up 3.2% over the same period in 2023 (37,600 in 2022).
The number of guests staying at accommodation establishments is estimated at 214,630, an increase of 32.5% over the same period in 2023 (162,000 in 2023). Room occupancy is estimated at 85%, an increase of 6.3% over the same period in 2023 (80% in 2023).
Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 2,940 billion, up 1.7% over the same period in 2023 (VND 2,890 billion in 2023).
International visitors to Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of National Day September 2nd are estimated at about 38,800.
On this occasion, the tourism products "Program to visit the National Architectural and Artistic Relics of the Headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City" implemented by the Department of Tourism in coordination with the Office of the City People's Committee and related departments and branches continued to be deployed for two days (August 31 and September 1) attracting domestic and foreign tourists to the City.
Over the two days of organization, the Headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City welcomed 1,848 domestic and international visitors. Visitors were warmly and respectfully welcomed; all visiting groups complied with the instructions on security and safety and visiting regulations.
The Department said that the long holiday is the basis for the strong increase in tourists on the occasion of Vietnam's National Day. The main tourist groups during this holiday are mostly families, groups of young or middle-aged people who have not arranged time for summer travel, most of them travel domestically.
According to information from leading travel agencies, because the holiday lasts 4 days, tourists tend to travel for 3-5 days. Domestic destinations that tourists prioritize during this year's holiday are Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Da Nang, the North and Central Highlands... Destinations near Vietnam such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, China are also of interest to many tourists due to cheaper airfares.
Travel companies continue to deploy attractive and diverse tourism products in Ho Chi Minh City associated with typical tourism products of Thu Duc City and 21 districts, tours connecting neighboring localities; traditional tour products; tourism products on eco-tourism, community tourism, green tourism, luxury resort tourism, resort tourism combined with health training programs, sports, meditation, detox, spa, etc.
On this occasion, the activities of tourist accommodation establishments and standard service establishments serving tourists have improved with a series of promotions and incentives from restaurant and hotel businesses...
In addition, in response to the 2024 Shopping Season program, shopping establishments and supermarkets have attractive discount and promotion programs at shopping centers and supermarket systems. This year's National Day holiday is also part of the stimulus plan of the units, so the discount programs are quite deep from 30-50%, even some promotional items are up to 80%, focusing on essential goods, consumer goods, and fashion goods.
