This is the most practical action of EVNNPT officers and employees to welcome the 4th Party Congress of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), term 2025-2030.
The national grid power supply project for Con Dao is a key and urgent project invested by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN). The project is speeding up its progress to meet the schedule assigned by the Prime Minister to ensure power supply for Con Dao special zone.
The project has a scale of 110kV voltage supply with a total length of 103.7km, including: 17.5km overhead line through Soc Trang province (old); 77.7km long submarine cable connecting from the mainland to the island; 8.5km long submarine cable on the island in Con Dao special zone and transformer station (expansion of 220kV Vinh Chau substation, Soc Trang (old) and construction of 110/22kV GIS substation in Con Dao).
The total investment of the project is nearly 5,000 billion VND, contributing to ensuring energy security and developing the marine economy of the Fatherland.
The leader of Power Transmission Company 4 (PTC4) said that, determining the urgent nature and strategic significance of the project for supplying electricity to Con Dao to ensure energy security, national defense security, and island security, PTC4 mobilized forces to deploy the construction of poles and wire pulling.
Moving to the sea to participate in erecting poles and pulling ropes is a big challenge, especially the work of transporting materials, tools, construction equipment, and moving equipment and vehicles takes a lot of time and effort.
Due to the construction conditions at sea, they had to follow the tide. In the morning, engineers and workers woke up at 4:30 a.m. to prepare to board the ship and move to the location, and returned to shore at 7:00 p.m.
Due to the location of the base at sea, there are no barges or large ships, so it is impossible to stay overnight. However, with available experience and high determination, the unit is determined to complete the mission well.
Mr. Nguyen Van Bay, Deputy Director of PTC4 said: Before leaving, the Board of Directors of PTC4 held a meeting, encouraged the spirit and required the teams to fully prepare materials and construction machinery; at the same time, developed a deployment plan and organized strict supervision to ensure quality, progress and labor safety.

The remaining time to complete the project is very short, while the weather conditions are complicated, with unpredictable rain and sunshine. The National Power Transmission Corporation has requested the teams to concentrate, strictly comply with safety regulations during construction, and ensure quality and progress according to the instructions of EVN and the Prime Minister.
