Many travel companies said they are ready to welcome guests during the September 2nd holiday. This year’s holiday lasts four days, making it suitable for domestic and international travel.
Not much change
Vietravel Tourism Company said that there were more than 9,300 departures during the September 2 holiday with some popular domestic tours including: Quang Ninh, Northwest route, Central "heritage route" Da Nang - Hoi An - Hue - Quang Binh, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Phu Quoc.
According to Mr. Tran Doan The Duy, General Director of Vietravel Tourism Company, the economic situation is still difficult, along with the September 2nd holiday falling after the peak summer tourism season and before the peak autumn-winter tourism season, so the number of customers registering for tours has not fluctuated much. "However, we still see great opportunities from groups of family customers or groups of young people who have not arranged their summer travel time and will set aside time to go on vacation this time" - Mr. Duy said.
Mr. Pham Quy Huy, Director of Kiwi Travel Company, informed that the day tour in Ho Chi Minh City is selling quite well while many people are considering some destinations in the Central and Northern regions. "This year, apart from some routes to Northeast Asia, the purchasing power of tours during the holidays is quite slow. In addition, some customers have the habit of buying tours close to the departure date, so the number will increase on days close to the holidays" - Mr. Huy commented.
In the North, Mr. Nguyen Van Tai, Director of VietSense Travel, said that the trend of independent travel continues to be the priority choice for destinations near Hanoi, for example Ha Giang, Moc Chau, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa... with the experience of swimming in the sea, hunting clouds, and learning about the culture of ethnic minorities in the highlands.
For Da Nang City, statistics show that the total number of flights arriving here during the 4-day holiday is estimated at 484, including 203 international flights. The total number of visitors arriving by rail is 5,785, up 25% over the same period. The average room occupancy rate is estimated at 50%-55%, with the highest concentration of guests staying on September 1 and 2, mainly at coastal establishments and some 4-5 star hotels in the city center.
According to the Kien Giang Province Tourism Association, the number of international visitors to Phu Quoc during the National Day holiday is forecast to increase sharply, mainly from Taiwan (China), South Korea, Russia... Meanwhile, domestic visitors to the "pearl island" are forecast to not increase much as airfares remain high due to few flights.
Domestic flights to Phu Quoc are mainly from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, flights from Hai Phong have only 4 flights/week, and other flights are temporarily suspended.

Localities ready to welcome guests
Ms. Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, said that she has requested accommodation establishments and food businesses in the area to improve service quality, ensure security and food hygiene and safety. Destinations need to closely cooperate with travel agencies to organize and operate safe and professional tours.
According to Mr. Nguyen Doan Van, Director of the Hanoi Monuments and Landscapes Management Board, the unit will display additional artifacts at the revolutionary relic house at 90 Tho Nhuom Street (Hoan Kiem District) and the place where President Ho Chi Minh wrote the Call for National Resistance (Van Phuc Ward, Ha Dong District). Night tours at the relics of Hoa Lo Prison, Ngoc Son Temple, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, Thang Long Imperial Citadel... are also expected to continue to attract tourists.
A leader of the People's Committee of Sam Son City, Thanh Hoa Province, said that tourists coming to Sam Son this season do not have to worry about a lack of hotels and motels. The locality has directed relevant agencies to strengthen inspection and supervision of the operations of restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of Khanh Hoa Province Department of Tourism, many resorts in the North of Cam Ranh Peninsula are fully booked at this time. The province expects to welcome an increase in the number of visitors compared to the same period last year.
In order to ensure the best service provision, Khanh Hoa Province Tourism has issued an official dispatch requesting businesses to strictly implement regulations on registration, price posting and selling at the correct listed price; focusing on fire prevention...
Meanwhile, the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien - Hue province said that Vietnamese tourists will be exempted from paying entrance fees when visiting historical sites on September 2. In addition, a number of cultural and sports activities will also be organized, such as the program "Hue Jogging - Running for the community" on the morning of September 1, the traditional boat race of Thua Thien - Hue province, and art performances on the walking street of Hue Imperial Citadel.
Tourist attractions under the management of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center also prepare ticket sales and regulation plans in crowded tourist areas. Resort hotels all have on-site culinary experiences and local traditional handicraft products for visitors.
Foreign tours still dominate
Demand for foreign tours, especially from nearby markets, remains overwhelming during this holiday season, creating a large gap between domestic and foreign markets.
A survey of the market and customer demand by Vietluxtour Travel Company shows that the rate of individual customers booking foreign tours for the September 2 holiday is about 60%, and domestic tours are about 40%. In addition to traditional destinations such as Korea and China, newly developed Southeast Asian tours such as Cambodia and Laos are starting to attract customers due to their average tour prices, short tour durations and favorable weather.
According to Ms. Vu Bich Hue, Head of Communications Department of Flamingo Redtours, the rate of customers booking foreign tours accounts for 80% with priority destinations being Thailand, China (8.7 million VND/customer for full package), Japan, Korea (from 15 million VND/customer for full package)...
Mr. Do Xuan Ngoan, Director of Hongaitours Company, informed that tours to China costing about 10 million VND/person are very popular with tourists. In particular, road tours such as Hanoi - Bang Tuong - Nanning, Mong Cai - Tra Co - Dong Hung, Ha Khau - Binh Bien - Kien Thuy - Mong Tu... costing only about 4 million VND/person are especially attractive because of the reasonable cost with a short experience time.
