Despite the sky-high prices, all tickets for Real Madrid's three group stage matches at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup have been sold out. The Spanish Royal team is in Group H with Al Hilal, Pachuca and RB Salzburg - a group considered quite easy for the Spanish representative. Real Madrid will play their opening match against Al Hilal in the early morning of June 19 (2:00 a.m. Vietnam time) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
Tickets for the opening match against Al Hilal at Hard Rock Stadium (Miami) range from $268 to $1,126, not including VIP packages. Although the opponent is not too strong, Real's attraction still makes tickets "sold out". VIP packages even sold for $15,000-35,000 (about 390 million to nearly 1 billion VND) have also sold out at the price of $15,000.
This is a very high ticket price compared to a match between Real Madrid and an opponent that is not a top club in the world . Meanwhile, the Inter Miami match with Messi was discounted closer to the match time, with the price being only 20 USD (more than 520,000 VND) but there are still many tickets left.
Real Madrid creates ticket fever at FIFA Club World Cup
In the remaining two matches, the Spanish Royal team will face Mexican club Pachuca with ticket prices ranging from 101 USD (about 2.6 million VND) to 535 USD (about 13.9 million VND). The final group stage match against RB Salzburg, Lincoln Financial Field with a capacity of 67,594 seats, has also been sold out.
According to FIFA, nearly 1.5 million tickets have been sold for the Club World Cup so far. However, the number of spectators attending each match varies greatly. The number of spectators per match ranges from more than 80,000 for PSG's match with Atletico to more than 3,000 for Ulsan HD's match with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Up to now, the total number of spectators coming to the stadium has exceeded 433,000, an average of about 36,000 people/match.
Tickets to see Messi are "unsold" despite price drop to only 20 USD
Despite its impressive statistics, the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has been met with criticism from prominent figures in the football world. La Liga president Javier Tebas has called for the tournament to be scrapped, arguing that the expanded format with 32 teams is no longer suitable in the current football context.
"I watched the Chelsea vs LAFC match and it felt like a pre-season friendly. There was no intensity, at least in the first 25 minutes I watched," Tebas said on June 17.
He also criticized the tournament's creation as generating more revenue for big clubs and stars, but the new format made the schedule heavy and disrupted the European football ecosystem, where television rights were approaching their limits.
