Nguyen Quoc Thai, a student in the specialized math class at Binh Long High School for the Gifted, An Loc Ward, Dong Nai Province ( An Loc Ward, Binh Long Town, former Binh Phuoc Province ) was very surprised to learn that he was the valedictorian of the province with a total score of 37.75 points in 4 subjects (math 9, literature 9, physics 10 and chemistry 9.75).

Although he is a math major, Thai's results in the four high school graduation exams were almost even; notably, although literature is not his strong point, he still excelled and achieved a score of 9.
Thai shared that in the past 4 exams, he felt the least confident in math because he encountered many difficult questions. As for physics and chemistry, he was quite confident. Meanwhile, in literature, Thai was surprised to have achieved such a high score. Thai said that he did the exam based on his emotions and the way his teachers had instructed and reviewed, and was very happy to have achieved results beyond his expectations.
Thai is quite modest when he says that he has not won any excellent student awards; however, his academic records after years of training, especially in grade 12, Thai achieved an average score of 9.9 in physics and 9.8 in math...
"I realized that I was not as smart as other students, so I promised myself to work harder to make up for my shortcomings. In addition to focusing on my academic results, I also did not forget to take care of my health, because only with good health can I do everything. When it came to the final stage, I tried very hard, studying until 1 a.m. to be able to do more types of exercises. In addition, I also searched for online courses and bought books to study, so I had more knowledge," Thai shared.
Thai also said that he spent a lot of time, actively learning about the new points in this year's exam and determined to review early. When the exam results were out, Thai received many congratulations and encouragement from family, friends, siblings, teachers...
In addition to being a good student, Nguyen Quoc Thai is also an active member of the school's volunteer club.

Thai said that his parents were just ordinary traders, but they were quite 'modern' and open-minded, so they did not force their children to study according to their own wishes. Besides, during his time studying at Binh Long High School for the Gifted, Thai also received affection and dedicated instruction from teachers and friends, which helped him improve every day.

Previously, Pham Vu Ha Linh (student of Binh Long High School for the Gifted) was also the candidate with the highest score in the 2024 high school graduation exam in Binh Phuoc province (now Dong Nai province) with scores in the following subjects: math 8.6 points, literature 9.5 points; 3 subjects: history, geography and civic education all achieved 9.95 points and English 9.8 points.
