According to comrade Nguyen Thi Le, the spirit of Cu Chi, the character of Cu Chi and the heritage of the Land of Steel and Bronze Citadel will never fade and will be multiplied and spread more strongly in the 7 new communes. These are: Cu Chi, Tan An Hoi, Phu Hoa Dong, Binh My, Nhuan Duc, Thai My and An Nhon Tay.

On the morning of June 22, Cu Chi district held a meeting with leaders of Cu Chi district through the ages and outstanding children of Cu Chi homeland.

Attending the meeting were comrades: Vo Van Cuong, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Le, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le was moved to recall the heroic historical milestones of her hometown Cu Chi - the land of steel and copper, from a desolate white belt after the war, now rising to become a prosperous and peaceful green belt. It is the crystallization of the passion, intelligence, sweat and effort of the Party Committee, government and people of Cu Chi district through many generations.

Cu Chi District, along with Ho Chi Minh City, is facing a historic turning point in the revolution of reorganizing the apparatus and administrative units. According to comrade Nguyen Thi Le, the name Cu Chi District may no longer be on the administrative map, but the spirit of Cu Chi, the character of Cu Chi and the heritage of the Land of Steel and Bronze will never fade. That spirit will be multiplied and spread more strongly in the 7 new communes, namely: Cu Chi, Tan An Hoi, Phu Hoa Dong, Binh My, Nhuan Duc, Thai My and An Nhon Tay.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Le emphasized that the city leaders always trust and entrust important responsibilities to the district cadres. This is an opportunity and also a challenge for the comrades to contribute, train and mature.

I hope that you will always keep your heart pure, your mind bright, and your faith intact to serve the people and build your homeland," said comrade Nguyen Thi Le.

Comrade Nguyen Van Nam, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, former Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, spoke at the meeting.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Le hopes that the leaders of the 7 new communes will be the connecting nucleus, maintaining the traditional flame, joining hands and hearts for the common development. She also believes that the young cadres of Cu Chi will continue the resilient tradition of the Land of Steel and Copper with full courage to improve their knowledge, professional skills, and perform well their tasks in the new context after the apparatus reorganization. She believes that wherever they are, whatever they do, the children of Cu Chi will always aim to build their homeland to develop more and more.

Reviewing the tradition, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Cu Chi District Nguyen Quyet Thang shared that Cu Chi is a land with a long tradition of patriotism and revolution. Cu Chi will forever be the pride of the people of the homeland of the land of steel and copper in the long history of building and defending the country.

During the process of construction and development, Cu Chi district has overcome difficulties and challenges, achieving proud achievements. People's lives have been increasingly improved, high-tech agricultural production models have increased the value of agricultural production; many irrigation works have been invested to create momentum for economic development.

Cu Chi District is also the origin of the movement to build charity houses. In addition, the work of building the Party and the political system has been strengthened, the capacity of the team has been improved, contributing to standardizing and improving the quality of human resources.
