On the afternoon of July 10, FIFA announced the July rankings for men's national teams. In which, the Vietnam team was deducted a total of 13.91 points after losing 0-4 to Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers at Bukit Jalil Stadium on June 10.

At this time, coach Kim Sang Sik and his team only have 1,169.92 points, falling 4 places from 109th to 113th in the world . This drop in ranking has caused the Vietnamese team to end its upward momentum since participating in the AFF Cup 2024.
Previously, the “Golden Dragons” had dropped to 119th place in the world. After the successes in recent months, we had risen to 109th place and hoped to regain our position in the top 100. However, after the loss to Malaysia, the Vietnamese team has dropped too much in the rankings.
On the other hand, Malaysia has risen 6 places after the victory over Vietnam, from 131st to 125th in the world. They promise to improve when they have a team of quality naturalized players from Europe and South America.
Indonesia also jumped five places after winning against China and losing to Japan in the third qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup in June. Garuda (the nickname of the Indonesian team) jumped to 118th in the world and is only five places behind Vietnam.
Thailand also dropped 3 places from 99th to 102nd after losing to Turkmenistan in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Thus, the Southeast Asian region no longer sees any team in the top 100.

Argentina remain at the top of the world with 1,885.36 points. They have been docked 0.8 points since last month's scorecard after beating Chile and drawing with Colombia in June. Spain are second with 1,867.09 points. La Roja lost the Nations League final to Portugal last month. France are third with 1,862.03 points.
The next positions in the top 10 belong to England, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Croatia respectively.
The next FIFA Days (national team gatherings according to FIFA's calendar) will take place in September.
