Rename 2 universities

On July 4, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long signed Decisions to rename two universities in Hanoi.

Specifically, in Decision No. 1483/QD-TTg, Hanoi University of Procuracy was renamed University of Procuracy, headquartered in Hanoi city.

In Decision No. 1485/QD-TTg, Hanoi University of Industry was renamed Hanoi University of Industry and Commerce, headquartered in Hanoi city.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Education and Training , the Hanoi People's Committee and relevant agencies, according to their functions, tasks and authority, to guide and supervise the renaming process to ensure transparency, prevent negativity, loss and waste of finance and assets; not affect the normal and continuous operation of the school; ensure the legitimate and legal rights and interests of students, lecturers, managers, employees and related organizations and individuals according to the provisions of law.

Previously, the National Assembly Standing Committee considered and passed a resolution approving the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy on the organization of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

Accordingly, the Hanoi University of Procuracy (T2) and the Ho Chi Minh City Procuracy Training and Development School (T3) will be merged. The name of the unit after the merger is “University of Procuracy” with the Ho Chi Minh City Procuracy Branch on the basis of the project to restructure the Ho Chi Minh City Procuracy Training and Development School into “Branch of the Ho Chi Minh City Procuracy University”.
