Vietnam's starting lineup against Malaysia: No striker

The Vietnamese team will meet host Malaysia in the second round of Group F of the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup at 8:00 p.m. today (June 10) at Bukit Jalil Stadium.

Unlike the experiments in the training sessions in Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur, coach Kim Sang Sik surprisingly left the main striker Nguyen Tien Linh on the bench. Instead, the Korean coach used Chau Ngoc Quang to play in this position.

This is understandable as Tien Linh is not in good form. At the same time, Mr. Kim also wants to surprise his opponent.

In the goalkeeper position, coach Kim Sang Sik chose Nguyen Filip instead of Dinh Trieu - the goalkeeper who has been the main goalkeeper since the 2024 ASEAN Cup. This choice is reasonable when Nguyen Filip is in good form and has a very good physique to face the naturalized strikers of Malaysia.
