Djokovic wins 29th consecutive match at Wimbledon

Novak Djokovic defeated Pedro Cachin 6-3, 6-3, 7-6(4) in the first round of Wimbledon 2023 on July 3.

Djokovic's winning streak in Grand Slams has now reached 22, extending from Wimbledon last year. Cachin, who excels on clay, had no trouble with Nole on grass. The Argentine won the serve and took a 2-1 lead in the first set, but still lost 3-6 after losing two service games.

The rain forced the organizers to close the roof of the Center Court after the first set. The match was interrupted for about 90 minutes, because the court was still wet in many places. Djokovic had praise for Cachin, who held all his service games in the third set. The Serb's next opponent is Jordan Thompson.
