(QNgTV)- Quang Ngai is orienting the development of Bo Y Border Gate towards modernity and synchronous infrastructure, both promoting trade and linking with tourism development. This is considered an important driving force to exploit the economic potential of the border gate, expand cooperation and attract tourists.

According to the report of the Bo Y International Border Gate Management Board, in the first 8 months of 2025, the total import-export turnover reached nearly 224 million USD, an increase of 3.1% over the same period last year. The number of vehicles entering and exiting the country reached 36,768, an increase of 5.5%; the number of passengers reached 180,000, an increase of 3.9%. State budget revenue reached more than 205 billion VND, an increase of 3.2%. Border gate infrastructure fees alone reached 21.97 billion VND, exceeding the annual plan by 0.5%.

The main export items include fertilizer, iron and steel, and machinery; the main import items are electricity, raw wood, sugar, rubber, and fruit. However, activities at the border gate still face many difficulties due to degraded infrastructure, lack of management facilities, and substandard foreign affairs offices, which limit the exploitation of potential.
