Tai Van is a commune in Region III, an area with a large ethnic minority population with nearly 75% of the population being Khmer. It is one of the localities with a low starting point when starting to build a new rural area. However, after 14 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Area Construction and effectively implementing the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021 - 2030, Phase I: from 2021 - 2025, the appearance of hamlets, villages and the lives of people in Tai Van commune today have changed positively.
Most notably, rural infrastructure has been invested in quite synchronously, with a completely built rural traffic system connecting from communes to hamlets, from communes to district centers and other localities; schools, medical stations, and cultural houses have been upgraded and built spaciously; rural electricity infrastructure has been invested to ensure that 100% of households have regular and safe access to electricity...

All of these have created important premises to promote rural economic development, and many effective production models have been gradually formed and replicated. The material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved, the average income per capita has been raised to more than 59 million VND/person/year, reducing the multidimensional poverty rate to 3.73%. For a locality with difficult conditions like Tai Van, the results achieved in new rural construction are very impressive, demonstrating the constant attention of the Party and State to new rural construction in particularly difficult areas and ethnic minority areas.
Comrade Thach Quoc Thai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Tai Van commune said: "Our experience in building new rural areas is to do a good job of propaganda and mobilization so that the cadres, party members and people in the commune clearly understand and see the importance of building new rural areas. Because this is a large program with a comprehensive nature of economy, culture - society, national security and defense, so there must be synchronous participation and high determination of the entire political system".
Attending and directing the ceremony to announce Tai Van commune meeting the new rural standards, comrade Vuong Quoc Nam - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee stated that building a new rural area is a journey without stopping. This is a regular and long-term political task, requiring the entire political system to really get involved with a determined, proactive, creative spirit and propose many synchronous and effective solutions. To strive to achieve that goal, Tai Van commune is required to pay attention to implementing a number of key tasks, which is to constantly enhance the role and responsibility of Party committees, authorities and the entire political system of districts and communes, especially the role of leaders in propaganda and mobilization work to each household and people to have a deeper awareness of the important strategic importance in building a new rural area. Strengthen propaganda to unify awareness and change the thinking of cadres and people about implementing new rural area construction in the right direction of "Ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers" ...
