According to a VNA correspondent in Beijing, the 16th annual Pioneers Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025, also known as the “Summer Davos Forum” with the theme “Entrepreneurship in the New Era” will take place in Tianjin City (China) from June 24-26.
The organizers said that this year's annual conference will bring together more than 1,700 delegates from over 90 countries, including leaders from business, politics , civil society, international organizations, media and academia, to share insights, promote action and address common challenges around the theme "Entrepreneurship in the New Era."
This year's annual conference will focus on five main topics: “Interpreting the Global Economy,” “China's Outlook,” “Industries in Radical Change,” “Investing in People and the Planet,” and “Energy and New Materials.”
As a key event bringing together leading innovators, this year’s annual conference will delve into specific strategies for scaling transformative technologies, fostering innovative business models, and building new partnerships.
At the same time, the annual conference will also focus on important emerging markets, especially China and Asian countries.
Chen Shuai, deputy director of the International Department of the National Development and Reform Commission of China, said that through the Summer Davos Forum, China will show the international community its remarkable achievements in high-quality economic development, demonstrate China's positive attitude in adhering to high-level opening-up, and share the opportunities and benefits of the country's development with the world.
The Summer Davos Forum 2025 will certainly contribute more wisdom and strength to the stable growth of the world economy.
WEF Managing Director Liang Jinhui said that although the world economy faces great uncertainty, the growth prospects of the Asia-Pacific region remain strong.
As the world's most dynamic region, Asia drives 60% of global economic growth, of which China contributes 50%, and is at the forefront of many innovations, technological advances and industrial transformations.
China has invested heavily in artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing and clean technology, with investment of up to $500 billion in the high-tech sector by 2024.
Against this backdrop, this year's Annual Conference will provide a platform to promote constructive dialogue and meaningful exchanges and collaborations, and guests can gain deeper insights into the trends and opportunities in China in particular and Asia in general, and gain deeper insights into the vibrant and rapidly changing regional innovation ecosystem.
According to the Organizing Committee, “Green” has always been the signature background color of the Summer Davos Forum. Recently, the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Tianjin) and two new energy power generation companies in Tianjin have completed green certificate transactions, providing 100% green electricity to the 2025 Summer Davos Forum venue, with a total of 800,000 kWh of green electricity, equivalent to reducing standard coal combustion by about 300 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by about 600 tons.
Green electricity certificate is an “electronic identification card” issued by China for renewable energy grid electricity. It is the only certificate of environmental value of green electricity.
One green certificate corresponds to 1,000 kWh of green electricity. The National Exhibition and Convention Center (Tianjin) has achieved a completely green electricity supply through the purchase of 800 green electricity certificates.
This is an important activity after domestic green certificates were recently fully recognized by the international supply chain. This will play a positive role in demonstrating the multi-channel participation of businesses in green consumption./.
