On July 22, the Ministry of Education and Training announced a correlation table between the scores of high school graduation exams in 2025 and the average scores of high school subjects.
This table compares the correlation between the 2025 high school graduation exam results and the 3-year study scores of grades 10, 11, and 12 (report card scores) of grade 12 students nationwide.
The correlation table shows that, in all 12 subjects, the average high school graduation exam score is lower than the average student's academic record score.
Some subjects have high school graduation exam scores that are much lower than their academic records. For example, in Mathematics, the average graduation score of candidates is 4.78 points, while the average academic record score of students in 3 years of study is 7.03 points; meaning that the high school graduation exam score is 2.25 points lower than the academic record score.
In English, the average high school graduation exam score is also 1.57 points lower than the student's report card score.

For many years, the Ministry of Education and Training has been comparing high school graduation exam scores of candidates with their academic records. One of the purposes of the comparison is to objectively and comprehensively identify the quality of teaching and learning, especially the practicality in assessing learning outcomes in general schools.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, in case of using high school results for admission, training institutions will base on statistical data on the correlation between the scores of high school graduation exams in 2025 and the average scores of high school subjects to develop and announce equivalent conversions of admission scores and entrance thresholds for each program, industry, group of industries or training fields.
