This year, the Academy of Journalism and Communication recruits 2,400 students (the same number as last year) through 4 admission methods:
- Review of academic records (expected 20% of target) 6 semesters.
- Combined admission (expected 30% of the target) candidates with international English certificate equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or higher, SAT certificate of at least 1200/1600, 6 semesters' GPA from 7.0 or higher, conduct classified as Good.
- Consider the results of the high school graduation exam. With this method, the school has 16 admission combinations, all of which include Literature.
- Direct admission and priority admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training .
The school divides the training programs into 4 groups. Group 1 includes Journalism and Publishing, Group 2 includes Theory, Group 3 includes History, and Group 4 includes Communication, Advertising, and International Relations. The total quota is 2,050, the same as last year.
For majors in group 1, the school considers the average of the 6 semesters' study results + the average of the Literature subject study results (coefficient 2).
For majors in group 2, the school considers the average of the learning results of 6 semesters.
For majors in group 3, the school considers the average of the 6 semesters' study results + the average of the History subject study results (coefficient 2).
For majors in group 4, the school considers the average of the 6 semesters' study results + the average of the English subject study results (coefficient 2).
With IELTS from 7.0, candidates will be converted to 10 English points. This score will be combined with the high school graduation exam score to form a subject group for admission consideration.
Candidates applying for admission by all admission methods must have a grade 10, 11 and 12 high school academic ranking of 6.5 or higher; conduct in grades 10, 11 and 12 high school ranked Good or higher.
Last year, with the graduation exam score method, the academy's benchmark score was from 24.68 - 28.35 on a 30-point scale (highest in Multimedia Communications) and from 34.7 - 38.12 on a 40-point scale (highest in History).
This year, the Academy of Journalism and Communication applies tuition fees of 571,000 - 1.04 million VND/credit.
