On June 10, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Ring Commune (Kon Plong District, Kon Tum Province), said that the locality is supporting 41 households living in areas at high risk of landslides to relocate and build new houses to stabilize their lives.
Previously, these households lived in a mountainous area in Dak La village. This is an area with many underground water streams flowing through, posing a risk of landslides. The residents requested to be relocated to a safer place.

From the beginning of 2025, the commune and district authorities and local people will coordinate to survey and select a new residential area with flat terrain, convenient for living and production. The chosen location is about 1.5km from the old village.
After the unification, 41 households were included in the support for removing temporary and dilapidated houses. Each household was supported with 60 million VND to build a new house. In addition to the budget support, people also contributed labor and additional funds to build solid houses. The local government also mobilized more organizations and units to join hands to support people during the relocation process.
Construction of new houses has been underway since the beginning of the year and is expected to complete all 41 houses before June 20.

“From a dangerous place, people have now moved to a new, safer place with solid houses. People can feel secure in settling down, stabilizing production, and improving their lives,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai.
Leaders of Kon Plong District People's Committee also regularly visit and encourage people in the new residential area, to speed up the progress and help people settle down soon.
