Proposed construction permit issuance time is maximum 7 days

(QNgTV)- The Ministry of Construction proposed to shorten the time for granting construction permits to a maximum of 7 days, which is half the current time.

In the draft revised Construction Law currently seeking comments, the Ministry of Construction proposes that each construction and project must carry out a single procedure, from preparation to commencement. This procedure is carried out online, with results returned electronically.

The maximum time for granting a construction permit is 7 days, instead of 15-20 days as at present (design appraisal, approval, and licensing). The design consultant is responsible for ensuring the safety of the project. The licensing authority only inspects the implementation.

There are three types of construction permits: new construction; repair, renovation, relocation of works and construction with a limited term.
