
According to the Department of Construction, this regulation aims to synchronously implement social housing development policies after Resolution No. 201/2025 of the National Assembly takes effect, especially in the context of Da Nang expanding its boundaries after the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units.
In fact, many low-income workers, although owning a house, live too far from their workplace, causing inconvenience and cost. Therefore, it is necessary to issue specific criteria to identify those who really need housing support.
According to the draft, people who already have a house but it is 30km or more away from their workplace, and 15km or more away from a social housing project, will be considered for support to buy or rent-purchase social housing. The condition is that the social housing must be closer to the workplace than the current house. calculated by the shortest road route.
The Department of Construction emphasized that this regulation helps avoid the situation of buying social housing too close to the house they already own, while actually contributing to shortening the travel distance and improving living conditions for workers.
The Department of Construction is seeking comments from units, organizations and individuals on this draft until July 20.
