Proposing outstanding policies to improve foreign language skills for students

(DN) - On the morning of August 22, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son chaired a working session with departments, branches; universities and colleges in the province and aviation enterprises on coordination in training human resources to serve Long Thanh International Airport and training policies in the province.

Enterprises and schools focused on discussing and exchanging on the coordination of human resource training to serve Long Thanh International Airport. Accordingly, colleges and universities in Dong Nai province are currently training many professions suitable for the recruitment needs of aviation enterprises. However, to meet the recruitment criteria, students need to be trained in soft skills and improve their foreign language skills. For specialized skills of the aviation industry, after recruitment, workers need to be trained by enterprises.

Schools and businesses also made a number of recommendations and comments on the draft resolution of the Provincial People's Council on human resource training policy for Long Thanh International Airport in the period of 2026-2030 (resolution).

According to Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son, Long Thanh International Airport is a large international airport in the region, so it requires a large number of human resources. Training human resources for Long Thanh International Airport not only meets the upcoming exploitation phase but also needs to be considered for the long term.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) to act as the focal point, coordinate with Dong Nai Newspaper, Radio and Television to have a long-term coordination program for human resource supply activities. In the immediate future, it is recommended that Dong Nai Newspaper, Radio and Television open a special page, column, and topic on the field of human resource supply to provide information periodically and regularly, helping workers grasp and choose suitable jobs.

Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son emphasized: Dong Nai Province has the 9th largest area, the 5th largest population and the 4th largest economy in the country. In the coming time, the province's economy will grow even faster. Therefore, colleges and universities must be ready to supply human resources in the coming period.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested that businesses and schools take the initiative and coordinate in human resource training. The Department of Education and Training will act as a focal point, creating information exchange groups to promote training activities and ensure the set goals. Dong Nai province will develop appropriate support policies.

Regarding the foreign language proficiency of workers, to meet this criterion, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training in October to propose to the Provincial People's Committee a specialized policy that is superior to current regulations to improve foreign language proficiency for students. If necessary, propose to develop a project or resolution to submit to the Provincial People's Council.
