For sustainable development of Quang Tri tourism

This afternoon, July 3, the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to organize a ministerial-level scientific workshop with the theme: "Sustainable tourism development in Quang Tri and the provinces of the Central region in the current context". Comrades: Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai; Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi; Principal of Le Duan Political School, Dr. Le Cong Toan; Director of the Department of Science Management, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Ngoc Giang co-chaired the workshop.

Also attending the workshop were Standing Committee member, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Truong An Ninh; leaders of departments, institutes, and research centers of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics ; leaders of departments, branches, units, scientists, and related localities.

Speaking at the workshop, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai emphasized that tourism in Quang Tri and the Central region has been making an important contribution to job creation and restructuring the local economy , promoting economic growth, improving people's lives, preserving and promoting ethnic cultural identity, local traditional culture, ensuring foreign affairs and national security and defense.

However, in reality, there are still many shortcomings. Sustainable tourism development is a long-term process, requiring strategic vision, perseverance, and consensus from many sides: the state, businesses, communities, and tourists. Therefore, this workshop is a practical step, aiming to gather wisdom and experience to find the most suitable path for sustainable tourism development in Quang Tri and the Central provinces.

At the workshop, delegates presented many papers, discussions, and contributed ideas to build tourism in Quang Tri province and the provinces in the Central region into a spearhead economic sector with sustainable development. In particular, focusing on a number of issues such as: orientation of tourism development in the context of globalization and climate change; the role of digital transformation in sustainable tourism development; policies to support local tourism businesses in green transformation; positioning the Quang Binh tourism brand in the sustainable development strategy; preserving and exploiting the folk cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities in developing community tourism in the Central region...

In his closing speech at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, affirmed that sustainable tourism development in the current context is both an urgent and long-term strategic topic.

The profound, responsible and dedicated presentations, opinions of delegates, scientists, experts and businesses at the workshop will hopefully contribute to helping Quang Tri and the provinces in the Central region complete planning, policies, investment and human resource training for the coming period, creating substantial changes towards building a green, smart and sustainable tourism industry.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee of the workshop also presented 20 gifts to relatives of martyrs' families in difficult circumstances in Dong Hoi, Dong Thuan and Dong Son wards.
