After the administrative unit arrangement, the old Bac Tra My district now has 5 new communes: Tra Giap, Tra Tan, Tra Doc, Tra Lien and Tra My.
Of these, only Tra My commune has a headquarters available from the old district police station and the old town police station; the remaining 4 communes must arrange police forces to work at the old headquarters of the component communes.
Many working locations are far from the new commune center, cramped and degraded, causing difficulties for regular work, receiving people as well as living and staying of officers and soldiers. Typically, in Tra Tan commune, the commune police have to temporarily work at the old Tra Giac headquarters, more than 20km from the new commune center, with difficult traffic.
Therefore, the early completion of the commune police headquarters system according to the new plan has become an urgent requirement. At the meeting on June 3, 2025 between the Quang Nam Provincial Police (old) and the People's Committee of Bac Tra My District (old), the parties agreed to continue construction of 5 projects: Tra Giap, Tra Giac, Tra Bui, Tra Dong and Tra Nu.
This will be the official headquarters for 4 new communes: Tra Giap, Tra Tan, Tra Doc, Tra Lien; at the same time, a number of departments, branches, and public service units will be arranged in Tra Lien.
The projects were transferred from the old Bac Tra My District Police to the Bac Tra My Area Construction Investment Project Management Board, due to the lack of district-level police and to concentrate resources and ensure progress.
According to the design documents, each project is a level III civil project, with a scale including a working house, dining room, and barracks with an area of over 240 square meters; along with a garage, a temporary detention house for administrative violations and auxiliary items...; ensuring the standards of public works of the police sector. The total investment of each project ranges from 4.4 billion VND to nearly 5 billion VND, with the completion deadline from October to the end of December 2025.
Immediately after resuming construction, contractors quickly mobilized manpower and machinery, organizing 3 shifts to make up for the delay. In Tra Giap, Mr. Ngo Nguyen Ha, chief engineer and site manager of Nhat Huy Group Joint Stock Company, said that the company aims to complete the entire project by October 30, 2025, according to the signed contract.
In Tra Giac, the project by Nha Dep Construction Company Limited has reached about 85% of the volume, basically completing the office building, roofing, door installation, electrical and water equipment. Tra Nu headquarters is also following the progress, having completed more than 60% of the contract value.
Although the projects in Tra Dong (new Tra Lien) and Tra Bui (new Tra Doc) were heavily affected by storms, flash floods and difficult material transportation, the contractor was still determined to make up for the progress to hand over by the end of the year.
Mr. Hoang Van Thu, Acting Director of the Bac Tra My Construction Investment Project Management Board, affirmed that the unit has assigned technical staff to closely follow the construction site, regularly inspect, urge, and handle arising problems to ensure quality.
“Despite the great pressure, we are determined to put all 5 projects into use simultaneously by the end of this year, creating conditions for the local police force to soon stabilize their workplaces, contributing to ensuring security and order in the area,” Mr. Thu emphasized.
The consensus from the government, the police force and construction units is opening up great expectations that by the end of 2025, the system of new commune police headquarters will be simultaneously inaugurated and put into use, fully meeting the functions, creating conditions for officers and soldiers to work with peace of mind, close to the people, contributing to maintaining security and order, promoting socio -economic development in the highland region of Tra My.
