Promoting AI applications in book editing, publishing and communication

On June 26, in Hanoi, the National Political Publishing House organized a professional exchange on the topic "Application of artificial intelligence in consulting, editing, publishing and communication".

This is a practical activity to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TU, dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science , technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

In his opening speech, Deputy Director of the National Political Publishing House Nguyen Thai Binh said that the Resolution of the 9th Party Congress of the National Political Publishing House for the 2025-2030 term has identified one of the three strategic breakthroughs as promoting digital transformation in publishing activities, with the goal of perfecting information technology infrastructure, digitizing the entire publishing and distribution process, applying artificial intelligence (AI) and support software to optimize time and improve the quality of publications.

“Artificial intelligence is increasingly present in all areas of life. However, to exploit it effectively and turn AI into a “useful assistant” at work, it requires each staff member, editor, and employee of the publishing house to have knowledge, skills, and initiative. This is a strategic step, contributing to making a difference and sustainability for the future of the publishing house,” emphasized Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh.

The Deputy Director of the National Political Publishing House, Truth, also hopes that, from the knowledge and skills acquired during the professional exchange, each staff member, editor, and employee of the publishing house will become an active "link" in the digital transformation process. This is also an important basis for the publishing house to research and develop a separate AI platform, suitable for the specific characteristics of editing, publishing, and political communication work, in order to modernize the publishing ecosystem and expand the spread of theoretical and political books in the digital age.

At the event, speaker Tran Khanh Tu, CEO of Unica Online Training Joint Stock Company, Chairman of Vietnam AI Academy, introduced an overview of artificial intelligence, global trends in publishing and communication; and shared many vivid examples of how to apply AI in editing, layout, design, promotion and distribution of books.

Staff and editors have been instructed on how to use popular AI platforms such as ChatGPT, tools to support writing, searching for information, analyzing content, building digital communication plans, etc.

These are important factors for users to be able to best exploit the utilities and huge amount of information that AI brings not only in work but also in daily life.

Speaker Tran Khanh Tu shared that customizing and personalizing AI tools according to work needs is the “key” to increasing productivity and quality. AI does not replace publishers, but is an “extended arm” that helps them be more creative and work more effectively.

Through professional and technical exchanges, the staff, civil servants and employees of the National Political Publishing House Truth have gained more knowledge and skills in applying AI to their work.

Not only does this activity aim to update knowledge for staff, civil servants and workers, it is also a strategic step for the Truth National Political Publishing House to gradually build a modern digital publishing ecosystem, in which AI plays an extremely important role.
