Here, you will be able to touch precious artifacts, pictures and documents, recreating the moment that changed the fate of the nation. But to fully feel the power of that turning point, let’s go back in history.

The Dark Ages and the Deadlock of National Salvation Movements

To fully understand the magnitude of the Party's birth, we need to go back in history to the late 19th and early 20th centuries - a tragic period for the Vietnamese people.

In 1858, the French colonialists opened fire to invade Da Nang , starting the process of turning Vietnam into a semi-feudal colony. The people lived in misery and lost their freedom. Patriotic movements of scholars and literati broke out everywhere, but were all bloodily suppressed, falling into a dead end. The Vietnamese revolution faced a crisis: How to find the right way to save the country?

At the exhibition, you will see vivid images of the pain and suffering of the nation. Stop and think: What would history be like without the great turning point?

Nguyen Ai Quoc's journey to find his way

In the midst of the nation's darkness and deadlock, an outstanding young patriot decided to embark on a historic journey - Nguyen Tat Thanh (later President Ho Chi Minh ). With the great ambition "I feel I must go abroad to see clearly. After examining how they do business, I will return to help my compatriots", on June 5, 1911, he left Nha Rong port (Saigon) on the ship Amiral Latouche Tréville, beginning a journey to find a way to save the country that lasted three decades.

He set foot in many countries and continents. From working as a kitchen assistant on a merchant ship that circled Africa and stopped in America, to working as a kitchen assistant at the famous Carlton Hotel in London (England). These experiences helped him directly observe and research bourgeois revolutions, and come into contact with the lives of oppressed workers.

In 1919, he joined the French Socialist Party. But the real light came in July 1920, when he read Lenin's Theses: He was moved and exclaimed, "This is the path to our liberation!" - the path of proletarian revolution. In December 1920, at the Tours Congress, he voted to found the French Communist Party, becoming the first Vietnamese Communist.

From 1924-1927 in Guangzhou, he founded the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association, published the Thanh Nien newspaper (June 21, 1925), and wrote "The Revolutionary Path" - the Marxist-Leninist ideological foundation for Vietnam. At the exhibition, you can admire copies of these documents. Imagine: You are holding in your hand the "torch" illuminating the revolutionary path!

The inevitable birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam - A great turning point

In the late 1920s, the revolutionary movement rose, three communist organizations were born: the Indochinese Communist Party (June 1929), the Annam Communist Party (November 1929), and the Indochinese Communist Federation (late 1929). But the risk of division existed.

Faced with that urgent situation, as a delegate of the Communist International, Nguyen Ai Quoc convened and chaired the Conference to unify communist organizations in Kowloon (Hong Kong, China) from January 6, 1930 to early February 1930. The conference agreed to merge the three organizations into a single party, named the Communist Party of Vietnam. This conference was meaningful as a Congress to establish the Party.

At the Conference, important documents directly drafted by Nguyen Ai Quoc were approved, including: Brief Platform, Brief Strategy, Brief Program and Brief Statute of the Communist Party of Vietnam. This was the Party's first political platform, clearly stating the policy of carrying out the bourgeois democratic revolution and the land revolution to advance to a communist society. The platform also set out the path to rally the masses and determined the nature and organizational principles of a genuine Marxist Party.

On February 18, 1930, Nguyen Ai Quoc wrote an appeal on the occasion of the Party's founding, calling on all compatriots in the country to join the Party, help the Party and follow the Party to "Overthrow French imperialism, feudalism and the reactionary bourgeoisie. Make Indochina completely independent".

At Zone 1, you will "relive" that moment through historical relics. Ask yourself: How did a young Party lead the nation to create miracles?

Historical significance and contemporary significance

The birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3, 1930 was a momentous event, a brilliant milestone in the history of the nation.
