People's consensus makes development
Village roads and alleys have been widened, houses have been built, gardens and fields have been built in a model style, and the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved day by day. In many rural areas, the spirit of “people know, people discuss, people do, people enjoy” has become a key driving force, turning major policies of the Party and State into a voluntary movement, spreading throughout the community.
The family of Mrs. Pham Thi Huong, in Thuan Hanh village, Thuan An commune, has a 30-meter concrete road. To build a rural flower road, her family took the initiative to prepare the land, make beds and find flower varieties to plant. In addition, Mrs. Huong also sorts the garbage and puts it in the right place to facilitate garbage collection, keeping the village road green, clean and beautiful. Mrs. Huong said that when the village road is clean and beautiful, the people living on this road will benefit first, each person contributes a little to have a healthy living space and also beautify the community.
The residential area of Thuan Hanh village, Thuan An commune where Ms. Huong lives has 211 households, 774 people, coffee is the main crop that brings income to the people with 460 hectares. In addition to coffee, households also produce rice, grow short-term crops, raise goats, buffaloes, cows, and poultry. The residential area has 200 houses built from level 4 or higher, no dilapidated houses.
The residential area has an average income of 75 million VND/person/year, 1.5 times higher than the average income of the whole commune and there are no poor households here. 100% of the people in the village use clean water, there is a regular garbage collection system. The residential area has a model of mass self-defense, self-management of security and order in living effectively. In the village, there are 2 model gardens that meet the criteria of model gardens in building new rural areas. The people's joint efforts have helped the village complete the criteria to meet the standards of a model residential area.

According to Mr. Le Van Hoang - Secretary of the Party Committee of Thuan An commune, the locality is continuing to implement the program of building advanced new rural areas, with the goal of striving to achieve a model new rural commune by the end of the term. Mr. Hoang said that building new rural areas in Thuan An does not stop at meeting standards, but more importantly, it is to improve the quality of life of the people, create a green, clean, civilized living environment, associated with economic development. The commune determined that new rural areas must truly be a place where people can fully enjoy infrastructure, income, culture, landscape and environment.
Not only in Thuan An, the people's strength is also clearly affirmed in Ta Nang commune. In the period of 2021 - 2025, people in the commune contributed over 1.8 billion VND to build more than 7.4 km of concrete roads in villages, alleys and hamlets. These projects not only facilitate trade and production but also open up opportunities to develop all aspects of people's lives.
High-tech agriculture - breakthrough platform
The New Rural Program in Lam Dong is closely linked to agricultural restructuring and the construction of concentrated production areas. By mid-2025, the whole province has converted more than 13,200 hectares, with over 107,000 hectares of high-tech production and 144,700 hectares of safe production meeting international certifications such as: VietGAP, GlobalGAP, organic, UTZ, 4C...

Notably, Lam Dong currently owns 960 export growing area codes with nearly 40,000 hectares, along with 338 packaging facilities that meet the standards of demanding markets such as the US, EU, Japan, Korea, Australia, etc. In addition, more than 270 domestic growing area codes with 2,600 hectares of various crops continue to expand the domestic market. This is the foundation for Lam Dong agricultural products to be both sustainable domestically and affirm their position on the world map.
Collective economy and cooperative linkages are also developing. The province currently has 919 cooperatives, 875 cooperative groups, 1,461 farms and 528 production - consumption chains. This is the foundation for Lam Dong agriculture to develop sustainably, reduce risks and increase added value.
In particular, the OCOP product development movement has developed strongly throughout the communes with 913 OCOP products, including 821 3-star products, 85 4-star products and 7 5-star products. This is a "passport" for Lam Dong agricultural products to reach out and affirm their brands in domestic and foreign markets.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, people's income in rural areas has made great strides, the rate of multidimensional poverty has decreased, making Lam Dong one of the localities with a high rate of sustainable poverty reduction.
To achieve the set goals by 2030, Lam Dong province focuses on a number of key solutions. First of all, it is to complete synchronous infrastructure, prioritizing transportation, irrigation, electricity, schools, stations, and clean water in rural areas. At the same time, the province restructures agriculture towards high technology, green - circular, develops specialized areas, encourages deep processing and links value chains.
The fields of trade - services, community tourism will be focused, associated with the construction of rural markets, OCOP product introduction points, and craft villages. Along with improving cultural and social life and protecting the environment, the province especially emphasizes the role of the people, promoting the spirit of "people know, people discuss, people do, people enjoy" to create consensus and spread throughout the community.
According to the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office, through a preliminary review, up to now, the whole province has 80 communes meeting the new rural area standards, 3 advanced new rural area communes, and 1 model new rural area commune. By 2030, Lam Dong strives to have 92 communes meeting the new rural area standards, of which at least 31 communes meet the advanced new rural area standards and at least 10 communes meet the model/modern new rural area standards.
