The Fatherland Front and its "core" role in building great solidarity

Throughout the history of the nation, great solidarity has always been the “golden key” to help the country overcome all challenges to successfully carry out revolutionary tasks. In Nghe An, that tradition has been nurtured by the Fatherland Front at all levels, transformed into concrete and creative actions, arousing “comradely love and compatriotic sentiment” in the most difficult times, contributing to the development of the homeland in harmony with the whole country.

Creativity in action

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh once advised: “Unity, unity, great unity - Success, success, great success”. In his homeland, that spirit has become an important internal resource for Nghe An to overcome difficulties, from the tradition of “sharing the same fate”, “sharing the sweet and the bitter” in fighting the enemy, to the period of renovation, bringing the homeland to further development.

With the "core" role in building the great solidarity bloc, the Fatherland Front at all levels of Nghe An is always proactive and creative to create social consensus, solve problems from practice; flexibly apply social networks through Fanpage, personal Facebook of cadres, Zalo OA..., spread the spirit of solidarity, mobilize community strength.

When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, the provincial Fatherland Front called for more than 308 billion VND to support frontline forces and people. During natural disasters, storms and floods, especially when storm No. 3 (Wipha) caused severe damage in Western Nghe An, in just over 20 days of calling (from July 23 to August 14, 2025), the provincial Fatherland Front received more than 152 billion VND. Of which, cash and transfers to the provincial Relief Fund were more than 120 billion VND. copper and promptly supported 34 communes with a total amount of 112 billion VND.

In particular, the Program to mobilize and support housing construction for the poor and households with housing difficulties according to Directive No. 21 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee has mobilized the strength of the entire political system, attaching responsibility to leaders, agencies, businesses and each citizen.

Many stories of “solidarity” in building houses for people have been spread. In addition to contributing a part of their income to build houses, many officials, civil servants and people have personally “drawn” house designs, directly purchased and transported materials, demolished old houses, dug foundations, leveled the ground to build new houses, and built and built “turnkey” houses for many households in particular difficulty.

With that spirit of solidarity and combined strength, after nearly 2.5 years, Nghe An has eliminated 20,802 temporary and dilapidated houses - a number that proves the power of people's hearts when properly aroused.

The Fatherland Front at all levels is also a "bridge" for economic development and sustainable poverty reduction. From supporting cash, goods, and household items during holidays and Tet; to supporting means of production, livestock livelihood models, supporting working days and harvesting crops, supporting production and business experience... These activities have contributed to reducing the multidimensional poverty rate of the whole province to 3.12%.

Not only a "bridge" for material support, the Fatherland Front in Nghe An also plays a good role as a "bridge" between the Party Committee, government and people, strengthening the trust between the Party, State and people.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, emphasized: The Front proactively grasps the people's situation and their recommendations and reflections to propose timely solutions to all levels and sectors; at the same time, it conducts diverse propaganda, takes advantage of social networks, creates high consensus in implementing policies and programs for socio-economic development, maintains national defense and security, and builds a strong Party and political system.

One of the outstanding results is that the Fatherland Front at all levels has propagated and mobilized the entire population to effectively participate in the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", contributing to promoting comprehensive development in each locality and residential area.

Before the merger of administrative units at 2 levels, the whole province had 279/362 communes meeting new rural standards, accounting for 77.07%; of which 135 communes met advanced new rural standards, 25 communes met model new rural standards; 11 districts completed the task of building new rural areas.

The figures on social security work and new rural construction in the province in recent times are not only the result of efforts from the Party Committee and government, but also a clear demonstration of the strength of great solidarity promoted by the Front, turning it into a specific action movement, creating widespread spread.

In particular, through the movements and innovative activities of the Fatherland Front at all levels in Nghe An, it has created a "string" connecting all social components, from cadres, party members, businessmen to people in remote areas, people of all religions, ethnic groups, children far from home and all classes of people at home and abroad for one goal: Building Nghe An rich, beautiful, civilized, modern, worthy of the tradition of Uncle Ho's homeland.

New demands of practice

Currently, the country and Nghe An homeland are entering a new era with higher, faster, and more sustainable development requirements; the task set for the Nghe An Fatherland Front, according to the sharing of the Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Nguyen Dinh Hung: That is to continue to promote the central role of solidarity, arouse the aspiration to contribute to building a strong homeland and country of each citizen.

On the other hand, the implementation of the two-level local government model poses new requirements for the Front in its role as a "bridge" between the Party, the government and the people.

The Front is a solid “support” for people to express their opinions and aspirations, and to accompany the Party Committee and the government. The Front also strengthens public opinion orientation, refutes false information, and conducts dialogue to strengthen trust and protect the Party’s ideological foundation in the hearts of the people.

To "fulfill its role", the Fatherland Front of Nghe An province is determined to continue to innovate methods, improve capacity, and take advantage of digital technology; associated with perfecting the apparatus, building a team of Front officials who are close to the people, understand the people, and are good at technology; taking the motto "Dedication to be loved by the people - Responsibility to be loved by the people - Discipline to be respected by the people - Dynamic to be benefited by the people" as a guideline. Applying digital transformation from data management, monitoring voters' petitions to social media communication helps to operate transparently and promptly.

In addition to the efforts of the Fatherland Front, support from institutions, organizational mechanisms and close coordination from Party committees and authorities are needed. Building a government “for the people, by the people, serving the people” cannot be without the voice and proactive, responsible participation of the Fatherland Front./.
