Sadly, two former V-League champions are struggling to avoid relegation: Can they escape together?

The race to stay in the V-League 2024 - 2025 is currently a three-way battle between three teams from the Central region: Quang Nam Club, Da Nang Club and Binh Dinh Club. Sadly, the two teams from Quang Nam, both former champions, are now in a difficult situation together.

Once a land that produced teams with personality, rich identity and ambition, now football in the Central region is falling into a tragic moment. As the 2024 - 2025 V-League season enters its final stage, the 3 teams of this strip of land, Quang Nam , Da Nang and Binh Dinh, are caught in a fierce relegation race. In particular, the competition between Quang Nam Club and Da Nang Club is something that fans of Quang Nam do not want at all.

Da Nang FC, with two V-League championships (2009 and 2012), is the pride of the land on the banks of the Han River. The 2024-2025 season has just returned after a year of fighting in the first division, but has once again fallen into the old spiral. Meanwhile, Quang Nam FC (V-League champion 2017) is not doing much better, as the golden years are now deep in the past. The two neighboring teams from Quang Nam, both former champions of the V-League, are now in a difficult situation, together clinging to the hope of staying in the highest football playground in Vietnam.

Although Quang Nam Club and Da Nang Club do not directly clash in the final round, they are both fighting for the same goal. Up to now, Quang Nam Club (currently with 25 points) has the most advantage, when coach Van Sy Son and his team only need a draw at HAGL's Pleiku Stadium in round 26 to reach the finish line safely.

Meanwhile, Da Nang FC (currently with 22 points) must win against SLNA in the final round, and wait for Quang Nam to lose to HAGL. Only then can the Han River team escape relegation. If this happens, the two Quang Nam teams will both have 25 points, but Da Nang FC will be ranked higher thanks to their better head-to-head record.

Although the prospect of both Quang Nam and Da Nang clubs appearing together in the V-League next season is unlikely to come true, it is not impossible. In the event that one team successfully stays in the league, and the other team wins the play-off, the stands at Hoa Xuan and Tam Ky stadiums will be crowded every weekend.

But it should be added that the above scenarios can only happen if Da Nang FC wins against SLNA in the final round, or the Han River team is not surpassed by Binh Dinh FC (currently with 21 points) on the rankings.
