Average CPI in the first 6 months of the year increased by 3.2% compared to the same period in 2024.
According to the Hanoi Statistical Office, in June 2025, 9/11 CPI groups increased compared to the previous month.

Of which, the housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials group increased by 1.75% (increasing the overall CPI by 0.36%) due to heat waves in the North, causing electricity consumption to increase, leading to an average electricity price increase of 6.3% in the month.
The transportation group increased by 1.67% (increasing the overall CPI by 0.16%) due to the average monthly gasoline price adjustment increasing by 3.97% compared to the previous month, diesel price increasing by 5.37%...
Also in June, 2/11 CPI groups decreased compared to the previous month, including: Food and catering services decreased by 0.08% (affecting the overall CPI by 0.02%), mainly due to a 0.44% decrease in food prices; food decreased by 0.19%. Post and telecommunications group decreased by 0.01%.
On average, in the second quarter of 2025, CPI increased by 3.65% compared to the average in the second quarter of 2024, in which 9/11 commodity groups had CPI increases.

Of which, 9/11 commodity groups had CPI increases; 2/11 commodity groups decreased compared to the average of the same period last year: transportation decreased by 4.38%; post and telecommunications decreased by 0.73%.
On average, in the first 6 months of 2025, CPI increased by 3.2% compared to the same period last year, in which 8/11 commodity groups had an average CPI increase.
The group of medicines and medical services increased by 15.97% (increasing the overall CPI by 0.81%); the group of housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials increased by 7.74% (increasing the overall CPI by 1.57%). Of which, the price of clean water increased by 4.07%; the price of electricity increased by 5.49%; the price of rented houses increased by 10.25%. The group of culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 3.94% (increasing the overall CPI by 0.19%).
The food and catering services group increased by 2.85% (increasing the overall CPI by 0.88%). Of which, food prices increased by 4.11%; eating out increased by 4.21%; food increased by 2.17%.
The garment, hat, and footwear group increased by 1.91% (increasing the overall CPI by 0.11%); beverages and tobacco increased by 1.68% (increasing the overall CPI by 0.03%); household appliances and equipment increased by 0.83% (increasing the overall CPI by 0.06%).
The group of other goods and services increased by 5.14% (increasing the overall CPI by 0.18%) mainly due to the 46.80% increase in jewelry prices; and the 29.98% increase in health insurance service prices.
Meanwhile, 3/11 commodity groups had average CPI decrease compared to the first 6 months of the previous year, including: Transportation group decreased by 3.25% (impacting a decrease in the general CPI of 0.32%);Education group decreased by 2.54% (impacting a decrease in the general CPI of 0.2%); Post and telecommunications decreased by 0.79% (impacting a decrease in the general CPI of 0.02%).
The gold price index in June decreased by 1.45% compared to the previous month, increased by 38.38% compared to December 2024 and increased by 55.11% compared to the same period last year. The average gold price index in the second quarter of 2025 increased by 52.6% compared to the average in the second quarter of 2024.
On average, in the first 6 months of this year, the gold price index increased by 45.25% compared to the average in the first 6 months of last year.
The US dollar price index in June increased by 0.3% over the previous month, increased by 2.89% over December 2024 and increased by 3.02% over the same period last year.
On average, the US dollar price index in the second quarter of 2025 increased by 3.03% compared to the average in the second quarter of 2024. On average, in the first 6 months of this year, the US dollar price index increased by 3.35% compared to the average in the first 6 months of last year.
