Phuong Trang Company operates 35 electric bus routes in Ho Chi Minh City from July

(Chinhphu.vn) - Phuong Trang Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company (FUTA Bus Lines) has just won the bid to operate 35/37 additional bus routes in Ho Chi Minh City.

Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Center put out a bid for 17 packages of 37 bus routes in the city. Accordingly, FUTA Bus Lines won 15 packages with 35 routes, equivalent to 557 buses.

Specifically, FUTA Bus Lines won the bid for 35 subsidized bus routes in the "Providing public passenger transport services by bus" package.

According to the documents, from July 2025, FUTA Bus Lines will start operating routes including: 23, 71, 85, 145, 58, 87, 100, 107, 126...

Vehicles are equipped with modern, synchronized equipment, with specific diagrams and routes on the vehicle.

Bidding is conducted publicly and widely through the national bidding network to select qualified units to undertake, thereby ensuring transparency, fairness, and compliance with legal regulations on bidding.

Vehicles operating on the newly bid routes will use electric buses and green energy according to the conversion roadmap, including electric vehicles and diesel vehicles.

It is expected that in July, Ho Chi Minh City will negotiate with the winning contractor and will operate new bus routes in July 2025.

To date, the City's bus system has 138 routes with 2,221 vehicles, including 19 electric bus routes (160 vehicles) and 18 CNG-powered bus routes (528 vehicles), accounting for 31% of vehicles using electricity, a clean, environmentally friendly fuel.
