In order to effectively carry out urban management and administrative management to serve the renovation and investment in technical infrastructure construction, creating favorable conditions for organizations and individuals in economic , cultural and social transactions, at the 24th session, the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 45/NQ-HDND dated June 20, 2025 on naming and renaming streets and public works in Tan Uyen City.
Accordingly, DT747 road from My Phuoc - Tan Van road (Phu Loi ward, Thu Dau Mot city) to Ong Tiep bridge (Thai Hoa ward, Tan Uyen city) is named after Nguyen Van Luong - former Secretary of Song Be Provincial Party Committee.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the naming of Nguyen Van Luong Street is an event expressing the deep gratitude of the Party Committee, the government and the people of Binh Duong province for the great contributions of comrade Nguyen Van Luong - a loyal revolutionary soldier, an excellent son who has made many contributions to the revolutionary cause and development of the province. This is an opportunity for today's generation to review the heroic historical tradition, contributingto educating and cultivating the love for the homeland, the country, and the national pride of the people of Binh Duong.
Mr. Bui Minh Tri suggested that localities, relevant sectors and units proactively review and synchronously renovate technical infrastructure along the entire route, ensuring the criteria of green - clean - beautiful; strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to participate in preserving environmental sanitation and urban landscape so that the route is truly worthy of its name, contributing to building a modern urban appearance rich in identity; strive to make Nguyen Van Luong route a model route in terms of planning, infrastructure, landscape and civilized urban lifestyle.
Nguyen Van Luong route has a total length of 11,140m, passing through three localities: Thu Dau Mot City, Thuan An City and Tan Uyen City, ending at Thai Hoa ward - the hometown of comrade Nguyen Van Luong.
Comrade Nguyen Van Luong was born in 1924, in Phuoc Thai village, Chanh My Trung commune, Bien Hoa province (now Thai Hoa ward, Tan Uyen city) and passed away in 2008. He made many contributions to revolutionary activities and economic and cultural development in Thu Dau Mot, Binh Duong . After the country's reunification, the Party entrusted him with many important responsibilities: Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Song Be province (1976 - 1979), Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Song Be province, term VI (1976 - 1981), Secretary of the Song Be Provincial Party Committee (1980 - 1992). He was awarded many noble medals and badges by the Party and the State: 60-year Party membership badge, First-class Independence Medal, First-class Resistance Medal, First-class Military Exploit Medal, First, Second, Third-class Liberation Medal, etc. |
