On December 21, 2008, at the Singapore National Stadium, striker Nguyen Quang Hai finished a lightning-fast attack, coolly scoring the only goal to help the Vietnamese team have a minimal victory but just enough to defeat defending champion Singapore.
That 1-0 victory (the first leg ended in a 0-0 draw at My Dinh) helped the Vietnamese team enter the final of the 2008 AFF Cup, where Hai "ga" and his teammates, under the guidance of coach Calisto, defeated rival Thailand to win the Southeast Asian championship for the first time.
On those historic days, Quang Hai was full of motivation as he prepared to become a father when his wife Kim Anh was carrying their first son, who would later be named Nguyen Le Quang Khoi.

After 16 years, when Hai "ga" hung up his boots to pursue a coaching career in the Vietnam U.17 team and is now an assistant to coach Le Huynh Duc at Binh Duong Club, his son Nguyen Le Quang Khoi is starting to take the first steps in his father's career.
On March 16, almost coinciding with the opening ceremony of the 2nd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - THACO Cup (TNSV THACO Cup 2024), at Ba Ria Stadium, Nguyen Le Quang Khoi scored a double in the 12th and 18th minutes, opening a 6-2 victory for U.17 Ba Ria - Vung Tau against U.17 Khanh Hoa.
Those are the situations where the boy born on April 9, 2009 demonstrated his ability to move reasonably without the ball, exploiting the space to escape and calmly score. In the qualifying round of the 2024 National U.17 tournament, the U.17 Ba Ria - Vung Tau team is in Group C with opponents U.17 Khanh Hoa, U.17 Phu Yen, U.17 Ho Chi Minh City, U.17 Binh Phuoc and U.17 Binh Duong.

As a witness to Hai "ga"'s son joining BMG Football Academy and growing up day by day, BMG Football Academy CEO Dinh Hong Vinh believes that Hai "ga"'s eldest son has the qualities of a "fighting cock", if developed properly, he will have a future, following in the footsteps of his father Quang Hai.
Mr. Vinh commented: "Quang Khoi has a very brave and confident way of playing, has good technique and tactical thinking. Quang Khoi's strength is his flexible and skillful way of handling the ball.
Born in 2009, only 15 years old this year, scoring 2 goals in the national U.17 tournament is commendable. If he improves his physical strength and speed, especially knows how to practice hard, Quang Khoi will be able to become a player with a future."
Vietnamese football has stories of football families passing on their skills to each other through generations, each with their own unique characteristics. Let's wait and see whether young Nguyen Le Quang Khoi will be able to work hard like his father Quang Hai, to have enough courage to become a professional player, and further contribute to the national teams.
