Should you pay for ChatGPT Plus when the free ChatGPT is getting better and better?

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên31/05/2024

According to TechRadar , OpenAI has just released a major update to ChatGPT, bringing many premium features for free to all users, making the paid ChatGPT Plus plan less attractive.

With ChatGPT-4o, free users can now interact with chatbots about files and photos, analyze data, create charts, and access the internet for more accurate answers. This raises the question of whether it is still worth paying $20/month for ChatGPT Plus.

TECHRADAR SCREENSHOT

While ChatGPT Plus still has some exclusive features like custom GPT creation, higher usage limits, and early access to new features, these benefits don't seem to be compelling enough for the average user.

There are many theories as to why OpenAI decided to upgrade its free plan. Some have suggested that it is a stepping stone to the launch of GPT-5 or new features exclusive to paid users. However, it is more likely that OpenAI is focusing on attracting new users and increasing the popularity of ChatGPT, rather than on revenue from paid plans.

The move could also be to compete with rivals like Meta AI and Google Gemini, which offer many of the same features but for free.

However, ChatGPT Plus users can still look forward to improvements in the future. If you are considering signing up for ChatGPT Plus, it might be worth waiting a little longer to see if OpenAI comes up with more compelling offers.
