Hanoi Club surprised by HCM City Police force

Head coach of Hanoi FC, Makoto Teguramori did not have much information about the lineup of Ho Chi Minh City Police FC and when entering the match, the early loss made the whole team psychologically affected.

On the evening of August 16, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club won 2-1 against Hanoi Club at Thong Nhat Stadium, in round 1 of V.League 2025/2026. This is the first victory of the Thong Nhat Stadium team against the capital representative since 2017, after 16 losses and 3 draws.

At the post-match press conference, Hanoi FC head coach Makoto Teguramori was saddened by the result, especially the early goal conceded in the 2nd minute which affected the whole team's mentality.

"We don't have much information about CA TP.HCM Club and have to predict their lineup. The other team really deploys a good defensive counter-attacking style of play, while we need to improve our ability to control the match," said the Japanese coach.

When asked about Hendrio's absence, Mr. Makoto Teguramori said that this player is in the process of completing his naturalization application.

On the side of CA TP.HCM Club, Head Coach Le Huynh Duc praised the players for showing great determination and winning the opening match of V.League 2025/2026.

"The players did very well in this match. I always want to create a team that plays passionately and beautifully. The team's physical foundation is not good, but everyone played their best," said Mr. Duc.

Commenting on captain Tien Linh's opening goal in the 2nd minute, coach Le Huynh Duc promised to soon have a better support plan to maximize the ability of the striker born in 1997.
