The draw ceremony for the 2025-2026 Southeast Asian Club Cup took place at noon on July 4 in Thailand, identifying the 14 competing teams, of which 10 teams were pre-divided into 2 groups.
In Group A, Hanoi Police Club will meet Thai League champions Buriram United, BG Pathum United, Selangor, Tampines Rovers and the winner of the play-off match 1 between Kasuka Club (Brunei) and Dynamic Herb Cebu (Philippines).
In Group B, Nam Dinh Club will compete for a ticket to the quarter-finals with Bangkok United, Malaysian champion Johor Darul Ta'zim, Singapore champion Lion City Sailors, Cambodian champion Svay Rieng and the winner of the second play-off match between Ezra Club (Laos) and Shan United (Myanmar).
In both groups, the Vietnamese representatives have to compete with the region's top clubs, which are heavily invested and have many talented foreign players. Buriram is a team with a championship tradition and is the strongest team in Thailand at the moment, similar to Johor Darul Ta'zim.

Hanoi Police Club is the current runner-up of this tournament (losing to Buriram in the final last season). Meanwhile, the current V-League champion Nam Dinh is a rookie.
The Southeast Asian Club Cup is one of two important international tournaments that Hanoi Police and Nam Dinh clubs will participate in next season, along with the AFC Champions League Two.
