Converting 796 hectares of ineffective production land to grow key, potential crops

According to statistics, since the beginning of the year, farmers in localities in the province have converted 796 hectares of ineffective production land to grow key and potential crops according to Resolution 10 dated August 26, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee.

Of which, 216 hectares of bananas, 200 hectares of cinnamon, 35 hectares of medicinal plants, 17 hectares of pineapple, 328 hectares of vegetables and fruit trees have been converted to grow.

Up to now, the whole province has 3,902 hectares of medicinal plants, 1,917 hectares of bananas, 2,217 hectares of pineapples, 59,587 hectares of cinnamon, and 4,507 hectares of temperate fruit trees. In addition, vegetables planted since the beginning of the year have reached 6,915 hectares.

The production value of the agricultural sector since the beginning of the year has reached 1,795 billion VND, of which the production value of winter crops has reached more than 580 billion VND, with an average of 130.5 million VND/ha per cultivated unit.

Currently, localities are actively mobilizing people to convert ineffective production areas to crops with higher economic value.

The conversion aims to increase added value per unit of cultivated area, develop sustainable production, contribute to environmental protection, adapt to climate change and form concentrated commodity production areas, exploiting the potential and advantages of local land, natural conditions and labor.
