Street vendors with signs of "price gouging" are causing a stir in Da Nang - Photo: QH
On the morning of July 15, the People's Committee of An Hai Ward, Da Nang City, said it had sent forces to inspect the street vendor area where there were signs of "ripping off" a group of Lao tourists, which has been causing a stir in public opinion over the past few days.
Specifically, during the inspection on the afternoon of July 14, An Hai ward authorities determined that the restaurant that was reported to be "overcharging" was owned by Ms. NTNL, residing in Ngu Hanh Son ward.
At the time of the inspection, Ms. L. was using a mobile sales cart on the sidewalk of Duong Dinh Nghe Street. This area has regulations prohibiting street vending and soliciting customers.
The working group drew up a report and requested Ms. L. to move all carts and items encroaching on the sidewalk out of the prohibited road; and not to trade in locations and routes where the city prohibits street vending.

To have a basis to handle the information reflecting the "ripping off" of the Laotian group of tourists on the night of July 13, An Hai ward requested Ms. L. to come to the headquarters of An Hai ward People's Committee at exactly 10:00 a.m. on July 16 to work and provide related information.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City also said it is waiting for information from An Hai ward.
As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , at 7pm on July 13, a group of 6 Lao tourists went to the sidewalk of Duong Dinh Nghe Street for a late-night snack. When ordering a meal of 4 octopus skewers, 2 okra skewers, 1 chicken foot dish and 3 Chinese sausages, the group of Lao tourists had to pay 760,000 VND.
When the meal was almost over, a customer found the price too high, so he took the payment slip to ask the Vietnamese tour guide, QH, who had just arrived. Too upset because the customer was "ripped off", Mr. H. argued and the seller returned 200,000 VND.
Mr. H. then posted the information on social networks.
