Ward chairman stabbed, hospitalized with serious abdominal injury, temporarily out of danger

On the evening of May 15, after being stabbed by a suspect and hospitalized, Mr. Vo Duc Duy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuy Chau Ward (Huong Thuy Town, Thua Thien - Hue ), is still being actively treated by doctors at Hue Central Hospital.

According to Thanh Nien reporter's source, Mr. Duy was operated on by doctors, who stitched each blood vessel... and is temporarily out of danger.

Mr. Duy was admitted to the hospital with multiple stab wounds to his chest, wrists and arms. One of the wounds was so deep that it punctured his stomach... Due to heavy blood loss, Mr. Duy's blood pressure could not be measured at the time of admission.

Mr. Duy was actively resuscitated, consulted, transfused blood, and had emergency surgery by doctors and nurses at Hue Central Hospital and is continuing to be monitored and treated.

As Thanh Nien reported, at around 6:30 this morning, May 15, Mr. Vo Duc Duy, Chairman of Thuy Chau Ward People's Committee, was stabbed multiple times by a man with a knife, causing injuries and requiring hospitalization.

The suspect was identified as Vo Trong Toi (65 years old, residing in Thuy Chau Ward, Huong Thuy Town), a relative of Mr. Duy. Toi had a previous conviction for "murder" in 1993.

After committing the crime, Toi fled the scene on a motorbike and was later arrested by police on the La Son - Tuy Loan highway.

The initial cause was determined to be due to a previous personal conflict between Mr. Duy and Mr. Toi. The authorities are still investigating and clarifying the incident.
