Government requests to submit resolution on tax response solutions before August 13

(Dan Tri) - The Government requested the Ministry of Finance to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the State Bank to develop a resolution on solutions to respond to the US tariff policy.

The Government has just issued a resolution on the regular Government meeting in July and the online conference between the Government and localities.

Notably, the Government assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to preside over trade negotiations with the US and complete the Decree on strategic trade control to submit to the Government before August 17.

The Ministry of Finance shall preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the State Bank to develop a Resolution on comprehensive solutions to promptly and effectively respond to the US tariff policy, and submit it to the Government before August 13.

In the electricity sector, the Government assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate with relevant parties to implement the adjusted Power Plan 8, remove obstacles, ensure the progress of large power source and grid projects, be ready to respond to all situations, and absolutely not allow power shortages.

At the same time, urgently review and propose amendments to Decrees 57 and 58/2025 and regulations on the mechanism for direct electricity purchase and sale between renewable energy power generation units and large electricity users; regulations on the development of renewable energy power, new energy power, self-produced and self-consumed electricity, etc., and report to the Government in August.

In addition, the Government requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to closely monitor market developments to proactively manage and balance supply and demand, ensuring gasoline and oil sources for production and consumption in all situations.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance and localities are assigned to urgently resolve investment proposals for power source projects under the adjusted Power Plan 8, especially gas and wind power complexes of FDI enterprises.

In addition, the Government requires ministries, agencies and localities to continue expanding and diversifying markets, export products and supply chains, especially advantageous products; strengthening trade promotion and supporting businesses to meet new standards of export markets.

At the same time, promote promotions, stimulate domestic consumption, effectively implement the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", support businesses to promote and consume products via e-commerce. The Ministry of Industry and Trade strengthens coordination with functional forces to combat smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, especially with milk, medicine, and food.
