In the middle of a factory of more than 1,000 square meters in Ninh Gia commune, boxes of canned straw mushrooms are neatly arranged, preparing for shipment to the US. Mr. Le Huu Han, the 24-year-old director, meticulously checks each stage, from storage temperature to sealing the boxes. "I want these boxes of mushrooms to reach customers in Australia, the US or Italy, so that they can still fully experience the flavor of their hometown's agricultural products," he said.
Growing up in a fertile agricultural land, Mr. Han witnessed many “good harvests but bad prices, good harvests but bad prices”, agricultural products being dumped because supply exceeded demand. Han shared: “Farmers’ agricultural products are diverse and of high quality, but most of them are only sold fresh. If they can be processed and canned, the products will last longer and travel further, making it less difficult for farmers.”
Han has two brothers and lives with his mother. Due to his poor circumstances, he chose to study at college instead of university to help his family. While studying Electrical and Electronics at Da Lat College, Han worked part-time and actively participated in social activities. After graduating, he returned to his hometown to work as an employee at Hong An Production and Trading Company Limited (Hiep Thanh Commune). Here, Han accumulated a lot of business experience and realized the great potential of his hometown's agricultural products. The idea of processing canned agricultural products and promoting them to the world began to take shape from there.
In early 2025, Han and his colleagues established Gaco Greenfoods Joint Stock Company, specializing in processing and exporting canned agricultural products. From the very beginning, Han determined that if he wanted to bring Vietnamese agricultural products to conquer the international market, he could not do it the old way, but had to standardize all processes according to global standards. From purchasing raw materials in the garden, selecting clean agricultural products, to preserving, processing, packaging... all strictly adhere to technical requirements and food safety.
Thanks to that, Gaco Greenfoods has achieved BRC (British Retail Consortium) certification - the highest standard for food quality and safety, considered a "passport" to enter demanding markets such as the EU and the US. After only a few months of operation, the first shipment of more than 16,000 boxes of straw mushrooms traveled thousands of kilometers to the US. To date, more than 100,000 canned agricultural products of Gaco Greenfoods are available in the US, Italy, Australia and Hong Kong...
Not stopping at straw mushrooms, Mr. Han and his colleagues are continuing to expand in new directions with baby corn and canned asparagus; at the same time, they plan to invest in modern machinery to improve productivity and product quality.
Along with starting a business, Mr. Han did not forget to complete his studies. While running the company, he also studied and graduated from university with honors. Mr. Han shared: "I think only by constantly learning will I be able to lead the business far and sustainably."
Not only passionate about business, Mr. Han is also an active young man, active in community activities. He was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Youth Union for his outstanding achievements in the Green Summer campaign. In 2021, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, Mr. Han volunteered to join the volunteer team to support epidemic prevention and control, helping people in difficulty. In addition, he also regularly contributes to humanitarian activities, supporting the poor and orphans. In particular, with his voluntary blood donation journey, Mr. Han has donated blood 18 times to save lives, this spirit has also spread to many young people.
At the age of 24, Mr. Le Huu Han not only successfully started a business but also spread the image of a young heart full of enthusiasm, great aspirations, daring to dream, daring to do and daring to go all the way.
