On August 16, in Tam Long Ward, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health held a launching ceremony for two 115 satellite emergency stations located at Ba Ria General Hospital and Vung Tau General Hospital. These are the 47th and 48th satellite stations of the 115 emergency system in Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Duy Long, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City 115 Emergency Center, said that before July 1, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau area did not have a 115 Emergency Center. Emergency care outside the hospital was mainly handled by each local medical unit and was not coordinated synchronously, leading to differences in response speed and quality. When people needed support, they often had to contact the nearest hospital or medical center directly.

From July 1, all calls to 115 will be routed to the Ho Chi Minh City 115 Emergency Center. Information will then be received, consulted and coordinated centrally, helping to ensure more unified and synchronized management.
According to statistics, in just one month after the merger, the number of calls to 115 Ho Chi Minh City increased from an average of 1,000 to 1,500, with some days reaching more than 1,600 calls. Of which, the demand for ambulances in Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau accounts for a large proportion. To meet the demand, Ho Chi Minh City has expanded its satellite station network, coordinating with qualified medical units to dispatch ambulances to other hospitals.
On July 10 and 11, the 115 Emergency Center and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health surveyed and evaluated the facilities and human resources at Ba Ria General Hospital and Vung Tau General Hospital. The results showed that both units are capable of performing out-of-hospital emergency missions.

From July 1 to August 10, there were about 200 ambulance trips from the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau area alone, mainly from these two hospitals.
Dr. Tran Ngoc Trieu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, emphasized that the implementation of a synchronized emergency care system in neighboring localities is an important step in implementing Project 912 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on developing a professional emergency care system by 2030.
The establishment of the 115 Satellite Emergency Station at Ba Ria General Hospital and Vung Tau General Hospital helps the two hospitals not only provide emergency care within the hospital's emergency department but also participate in managing outpatient emergency care for the entire region.

The Department of Health requires hospitals to prepare adequate human resources, facilities, and equipment; send staff to attend training courses to improve their professional skills. At the same time, it is necessary to standardize emergency knowledge not only for the Emergency Department but also for other clinical departments, ready to respond to any emergency situation.
